Where's the best BBQ in the OKC area these days?

Coming down for the Ohio State game and usually enjoy going to Ray's BBQ in Norman, but curious as to if it's worth it to drive out to the original Van's in Shawnee (reviews seem to indicate it is going downhill) or if there's another, better place in the area.

    Gin

A friend introduced me to gin & tonic last week. We had 2/3 tonic 1/3 Tanqueray, ice and juiced lime. Tonight it's tonic, Beefeater and lime. I prefer the Tanq. What's the best gin for the drink? Other good gin drinks?

    Let's Discuss OUr intake

Recently, I have seen magnificent results in my weight by doing nothing other than ditching the processed foods. It all clicked one day when cleaning out cupboard and there was a brick of cheese that I had purchased before the OU/ Texas game. My jaw dropped. I couldn't believe that the kitchen...

    Store-bought salsa

I often try a new jar or salsa when grocery shopping, usually turns out somewhere between 'meh' and 'not bad' but I tried Towhead salsa and it's incredible. The 'hot' is tasty but not as hot as I like; the Habanero is hot and very Habanero-ey. It's really fucking good. Made in Tuttle, OK....

Worst places you've eaten at? (fast food does not count).

Currently at 3 Tequilas in Edmond for our "Mediocre Mexican Food Sunday" tradition, and man this place is bad. No flavor. Could be just what I ordered but still. I probably will not come back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ceramic Cooking Grills

I'm not a big time outdoor grill guy but I enjoy cooking outdoors from time to time. I'm considering moving up to Ceramic Grills from my old gas grill. From my research it looks like the Big Green Egg is the best but expensive. I've looked at lesser cost Ceramic grills (Kamado Pro) and the...

    Culinary adventure in Michoacan, Mexico

Went to Michoacan, Mexico where mi esposa, Maria, lived until she was 13. The ranchera town of a hundred or so households is called Ojo de Agua de Senora. Ojo de Agua means “Eye of Water” – the original settlers in the 19th century located there because of a spring fed pond: Maria’s...

    Smokers...

I am a pretty decent grill artist but I'm looking at getting into smoking, especially with the fish that we catch. One of my neighbors is getting into it pretty heavily and I must admit it in the fall when the air is a little crisp, there's nothing like smelling Hickory, or pecan, or Applewood...

    Thinking of smoking a fatty

Think I will try my first for the Cowboys playoff game on Sunday. Anyone have some good advice? Recipe? What works best? Thining of just keeping it simple, ground beef/pork mix rolled up over some peppers and onion wih lots of cheese with of course a bacon weave on top.

I make mine for my audience. Chicken, a little mayo, chopped up Jan's pickle, onion, ground pepper, cayenne, worchestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. I like mine with just a little mayo. Jan's pickles are the rage in my house so I chop up a few chunks. She doesn't like pecans, grapes or...
