Food and drink board. Share favorite recipes, adult beverages, and tailgating tips.
Thought I might try to be a little more ambitious someday and whip up a baked breakfast dish with eggs, ground sausage, whatever. Anyone have a good recipe along those lines, or even a special French toast or pancake recipe?
Not exactly sure which board this should go in. Move it if necessary please.
I'm curious if any OK restaurants are participating? I saw a pic on twitter that The Garage was closed today due to Day Without Immigrants. Not sure if its true. Anyone else?
How is it?
It's about that time. My first asparagus spears have already emerged. Thanks El Niño!
I'm bringing in family from CA for KU homecoming game and looking for somewhere to eat out Friday night in OK City.
Suggestions. Drinks not an issue because we are all non-drinkers. Nothing too fancy since probably will just pack jeans etc for a FB weekend trip. Thanks.
Who likes em'? I wouldn't even try them until about 20 years ago or so in Annapolis. Once I did? Holy moley, I eat the shit out of them every chance I get. So good.
Here's a half-dozen a few weeks back on the water in Cancun.
Here it is before putting on the smoker. I seasoned it yesterday afternoon and touched it up this morning.
These are theory questions as my dream is to at one time, open a top quality bbq restaurant.
How far would you drive to eat at a really good bbq restaurant?
What would you expect to pay per adult?
Would you be turned off by a place that charges meats per pound vs. a place that charges by...
I've only passed through a couple of times without stopping, and it's been decades. But I heard the town has great German groceries/delis, and puts on a nice festival, only in spring instead of October.
Any LT'ers visited there?

Any suggestions in OKC area?
Not that big a fan of Asian food, but I am helping support a foreign exchange student from Korea. Thought it might be fun to see how he likes an Okie version of Korean food.
He is living in Lawton and going to Lawton High. Unfortunately, we couldn't...
So I'm tempted in trying something that I'm sure is going to end in massive failure. I want to smoke a pot roast....sort of. You see, I want to infuse, just enough smoke to impart a bit of flavor (not overpower), and then finish it in the oven or the crockpot. So essentially, I'm smoke infusing...
Looking for ideas for tonight from you LT'rs. :bell:
Since I already work out like a fiend, my son, fresh from his nutrition class at OU, has determined that if I "just watch my macros" I can have a 6 pack. Abs. On my 52 year old body. We'll see!

How a Dire Cook Shortage is Wrecking American Restaurants
I get mine from here:
Have clients coming in next week and wanted to do some thing a bit different but being so far off the coast, I've never tried it locally.
How do you cook it? This is stemming from a heated (pun intended) argument about stove-top vs. oven.
I'm all about oven bacon. It cooks nice and even, and if you use a rack/cookie sheet with aluminum foil clean up is non-existent and you can still save the grease to cook with. Pan cooking is...
