I've only passed through a couple of times without stopping, and it's been decades. But I heard the town has great German groceries/delis, and puts on a nice festival, only in spring instead of October.

I was gonna go with Swadley's since they are just a few miles away from the house, but their cost is $15 per pound and I don't want to spend $150 on a turkey.
I don't go thru checotah often but if you're out in the the sticks, they have some of the best chicken I've had.
Definitely worth a stop if you're heading east out of okc.
