I'm a Landman. It's an interesting career. It has wide swings depending on how busy things are. There are basically 2 tracts for Landmen, and one is in the field and one is "in-house". The field guys make a little more, but they go to BFE for months on end, and many times are independent and can be let go with work gets slack.
With a Energy Management degree, you can get an in-house job which is hard to get if you don't. It's steadier work.
It's an interesting career, where you can make more money then many other fields.
Good luck....if you need advice, there are several on the Oil and Gas Board that are landmen.
