This is absolutely true. Great for middle-of-the-night warnings and such, but nothings better when you're down below than our local coverage. All radio stations come through loud and clear on mine.

Ours has performed flawlessly every time we've been underground. I bought the Kaito Voyager Pro... they're not cheap, but it's the ****. It has the obvious weatherbands, AM/FM, flashlight, reading...

My wife uses a lot of ice, just way too damn much because it waters down the finished product.... but, hers obviously have far less sugar and calories, so there's that.
