So happy and surprised. I really thought this might be a blowout. Best game of the year that I've seen. (I missed the Lakers.)

I'm enjoying seeing Collison out there. He's still able to give some good minutes. That touch pass to Russ on the drive was pretty.

For Grant being on the team for like 24 hours, he actually played pretty well at the 3! Can't shoot really, but at least he's not playing hot potato on offense like Roberson.

Russ on the floor: 3 or 4 seed in West.
Russ off the floor: Philadelphia 76ers.

Grant is WAY better than Roberson already... and he's been a Thunder player since lunch

Roberson is so ****ing awful offensively. Sometimes it's so bad, you almost think it's intentional.

How can a guard not be able to shoot free throws any better than a guy out of the stands?

This is the type of basketball I envisioned a Billy Donovan coached team would play: tough D and gritty.

  22. #1222
That was ugly on the offensive end but color me impressed with that D. Gutted that sum**** out and that's going to pay dividends down the line.

Also impressed with Grant's athleticism. Once he gets on the same page as everyone feel like he can be a solid contributor on offense, already making his presence felt on D.

This team is nicely built alongside Westbrook. They remind me defensively of a Riley coached Knicks team. Tough, stingy, and all over the glass. The big difference is the Thunder has a Jordan-esque superstar to pair that defense with.

Thunder defense will keep em in about every game and Westbrook being Westbrook will close out a lot of games.

Regardless of what happens tonight. This was a successful road trip.

Also either abrines or morrow needs to be on the floor with the bench to space the floor and give kanter better opportunities.

So in the 4-0 start, no 4th quarter meltdowns in the 3 games that were close. Hmm.

I wouldn't get too excited about his offense. He hasn't shown to be a good offensive player yet in his career. He has scored some this season but has taken a lot of shots to get the points

  32. #1232
I only got to watch a little of the game. How is Adams playing? In July I said that he's a guy that you could build a team around if need be (a sort of Tim Duncan). I got laughed off at. I do realize it was a stretch, but we were pretty desperate in July. I also realize you need more than a good big, but Adams could turn out to be one of the best in the league at his position. Maybe I'm just impressed with Adams because he's a lot more athletic than Perk, Collison, etc. But anyway, how'd he play beyond the stat line?

  33. #1233
It's crazy, but I'm pretty sure the thunder have never started a season 4-0. We usually started the season slow in the past and it would take us awhile to get going. Of course, most of it is due to only playing 1 good team in the first four games, but still.

I think he is learning to adapt. He's turning the ball over a little too much, fumbling too many passes. I think he will grow into his role, kind of like Russ was forced to do.

The lack of spacing hurts Adams too. When teams pack the paint against us, he can't get his easy pick and dunk with Westbrook. He's having to rely more on his post moves to score, which he's still working on.

I've always liked Morrow, so I'm not sure why he doesn't get at least 7-10 minutes a game. Abrines had a couple of nice threes last night, and then Crawford made him look silly on defense.

I bet KD has more turnovers than assists.

Russ hits a triple double, bigs play well. Thunder lose a close one.

The Thunder are first in defense but only 28th in offense.

I said the Thunder need to be top 5 in defense to have a chance to be an upper echelon team, but the offense can't be 28.

Offense by what metric? We'll be at the bottom in efficiency metrics because we can't shoot 3s. Nothing to be done about that.

Kyle Singlar dunks on cupcake and Adams kicks green in the nuts. And after a thunder victory, klay thompson asks to be traded to the thunder

In reality though. at some point we will be down double digits. I want to see us fight through that and keep our cool. Run our system. Be in the game to start the fourth

I think it's very exciting that the Thunder won @ the Clippers with those two basically non existent on the offensive end. It's going to be a totally different brand of basketball, but it can be just as effective. Defense travels. Role players are notorious for playing better on offense at home, so the road games are going to have to look like last night.
