The year was 2001... Texas was On the 3 yardline in a 7-3 game, late in the fourth qtr. what comes next is forever remembered in OU lore as "The Play"

If you count a near goal line play, 1973 in Norman, OU vs CO. Sitting in the S end zone, game is close, CO driving and Randy Hughes ints the Buffs and runs North about 95 yards for a TD and busts the game open. Maybe that was the year OU,NE,CO were 1,2 and 3 at one time.

1984 against texas and neb were the best and crazy it happened in the same season. osu in 2003 and against seneca wallace and iowa state in 02 were nice

Wasn't there a goal line stand against the pokes in '07 as well? I remember the osu qb (Z. Robinson?) putting the ball on the ground on 4th down. But I agree with earlier poster, '84 Nebraska is the best.

OU vs Florida in the Natty. We couldn't score on 3 straight run attempts from about the half yard line.

No...they were 97 yards away from their goal line. The one the defense takes a stand against. When you get to within, say, 3 yards of the offensive goal line, people say they need to make a 'goal lime stand'. Nobody said prior to The Play 'OU really needs a goal line stand here'.

QB Sneak!!! While Florida DLinemen were literally jumping into the neutral zone trying to get limed up and Sam just sat there under center. Offense was limed up ready to go. So frustrating. Happened twice.

So much on the line in both of those games. Two goal line stands in the same year. Somewhere, there's a clip of Switzer giving a postgame locker room talk after Nebraska where he mentions both goal line stands. It's the single greatest oratory in the history of the planet. Find it and watch it with a box of Kleenex.

Michigan at Ohio State in 1972. Buckeyes ended Michigan win streak at 15 games with not one, not 2, but 3 goal line stands. Bo went for it all 3 possessions on 4th down from 4th and inches because we owned the Buckeyes and in the end, I refused to play for a tie."

Fall of 1989, Stillwater Pioneers stop Enid from scoring 4 times in a row from the 1 in OT. The win would propel Stw to their 2nd straight District Title.

Wasnt there a really good goal line stand vs osu in 06 or 07? I remember faintly zac robinson getting stoned on an option play that went back for an ou td

Yes for Zac getting slammed at the goal line in Stillwater on last play of game in 2006. It did not lead to an OU TD. I was there gleefully singing Boomer Sooner surrounded by Poke fans. Walking out, a 10 year old boy says to his dad, "I hope Nebraska kicks their ass." I just smiled and walked on.

This is why Bo was always known as Bo Schembungler. Although the Bo-Woodie game was a must watch just to see if Woodie threw a fit and to watch Bo scowl.
