I'm always geared up for a Fargo season. We we're wondering wth was going on for about all of that 1st episode. Gonna set up to be a good one again, I believe. Those accents are funny stuff.

The air conditioner drop was way bizarre, but maybe not as much as the falling tilapia in season 1.

Yeah, Nikki is hawt for sure.

Got home late last night. Watch about the first 20 minutes. I was like, is Ewan McGregor playing two parts? Sure enough, he is.

OK, got through all of episode 1 last night. All I can say is "weird". Not that season 1 and 2 didn't have their own share of weirdness, but this one seems to be totally off the wall.

Not sure at this point, but it was very similar to the opening scene of one of the greatest films of all time: The Lives of Others

Man that was a slow episode.

And it resulted in almost nothing.

They need to pick up the pace.

Edit: I just learned that the young woman in episode 3 was one of Clint Eastwood's daugthers: Francesca

episode was important for Gloria to learn that people can be devious and do pretty vicious things, which is a critical development to her character considering she polices in a town of unlocked doors

I will agree the guy from the plane who she ran into later in the bar seemed like a waste of time, though

If that was the point of the episode they could have done it in 30 minutes and spent more time on what was going on in the lives of the other characters.

She flew to LA and hung out for several days and discovered nothing of value related to who might have killed her step father. Maybe it is because we already know it was a total accident that he was murdered.

The guy on the plane did serve a purpose. He bailed her out from that douche bag LA cop that was hitting on her.

I did chuckle a little when the cop asked "Am I getting laid tonight or what?", and she answered "what".

you're right, they could've trimmed it down to half the episode. easily done by removing the LA cop's role and the guy on the plane, tbh.

seasons 1 and 2 were excellent. 2 > 1 for me, primarily bc of the Karl Weathers character, which was all timer. jury's still out for me on season 3.

The cop had to go Sunny Philadelphia with his comment that he just wanted to take a sh*t.

Agree on the job that Weathers did, but I think overall Season 1 was better than 2, although 2 was still very good. Season #3 so far is not as good as either 1 or 2, but still fun to watch.

Season 1 was great because of Billy Bob Thornton - but the first season had to, at least loosely, follow the movie

Season 2 was it's own story and characters - but so very good

She looked familiar. I've seen her in movies before. She's been in a couple of films with Clint.

How long will this formula work?

    1. Doofus kills somebody and is manipulated by hot woman
    2. Local business tussles with the mob
    3. Local yocal cop tries to solve case
    4. Hilarity ensues

The writers have a fascination with menstruation.

      Spoiler:
The scene where Sy was questioned by the new policewoman was horribly acted by him.

    And the bulemic mobster.

Episode 4 was really tough to watch for me until the very end. Then it finally got interesting.

The Billy Bob Thornton narration was a nice touch.

Yeah I don't think highly of the bulimia schtick either. Also the lady cop had to be pretty convinced Sy was up to something wrong with the bizarre way he acted. It kinda was painful to watch.

Bulimia will probably tie back to his childhood, not that it really has much to do with the show other than character development. Kind of a scary dude, though....

I'm not feeling season 3 so far. Just way too slow and not really getting anywhere. Season 1&2 we're great.

How could the wife be so easily fooled by the sex tape? Also why is she not willing to believe the truth?

It sounded like Nikki took a heck of a beating, but not a single mark on her face.

Why did she go home and get in the bathtub rather than going to a hospital?

Another bad acting job by the guy who plays Sy.

The scene with the IRS agent was totally false. Unless there is significant criminal activity involved, they would never just show up at someone's office. An appointment letter always goes out first. Secondly, they would never visit a business because one of the officers had taken out $10,000, one time. They would have to triple the number of examiners to do this and they won't have that budget ever.
