    Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you motherfuckers.

Watching CBS Sunday Morning today, they did a piece on millenial fathers and how they participate more in child care than fathers of past generations.

    Great.

But when they attempted to describe fathers from the 70's in order to make a comparison, they used TV characters like Archie Bunker and Al Bundy as examples. I'm was stunned that they seriously thought that those TV characters had any resemblance to real life fathers.

When I think of fathers back in the day, I think of Ward Cleaver, although some nights he tended to be pretty hard on the beaver.

The act you have just perpetrated, I recognize it, visually.

I think about my Dad or Grandad. Anything I saw on TV was pure fiction.

You shouldn't expect sanity from our Media, nor be shocked at their behavior.

Actually Archie was a good parent, husband. He went to work, provided, and seemed to love both Edith and Gloria. Can all those pajama bois say that?

Thank every one of you. You've all grown up to be such good boys. I loved all your mothers very much.

I love that song. It's hard to listen to. My song to my Dad is He Didn't Have to Be by Brad Paisley. It gets pretty dusty every time.

Yeah, true ....but the case they were making was that was all that expected from fathers in the 70's and before that.

I'm sure CBS.com will have this weeks show up on the site soon, if not already. Its beyond me to describe what those people were saying.

24 post and no ones has talked about their Fathers Day gifts. LT fathers are nothing if they aren't materialistic. I got tickets to the Ranger game August 12th honoring Pudge Rodriquez and his inauguration into the HOF.

I had a great Father's Day. Breakfast at Jimmy's Egg, some yard work while it was cool and overcast, then dinner at Tarahumara's and then the kids and I walked around campus. Beautiful weather for mid-June.

You lumping your daughter in with "milfs" is disturbing. 😉

I'm fortunate. My dad is 86, still able to get up and around, hold conversation (decry the state of the world). I had a couple of meals with him, attended church together, took him to Wal-Mart. Heard some of his army stories for the thousandth time, but it was fun to watch my daughter laugh at them. Went bike riding with my son...listened to a couple of his problems, gave advice. Oh yeah, I received a new Shop-Vac. Got my Dad an old sheet metal cutout of a dog that looks just like his favorite dog.

    A Father's Day to remember.
