The rest of them who only had weed were released. The only one who had a gun was arrested. Will let you figure it out from there.'

By the way I do think weed should be legalized.

hey, if people want to smoke a little rope....I get it. It's not my thing, but I get it. However, if someone is staring an extremely lucrative NFL career in the face....not sure that the weed and illegal firearm idea is a good one. I should be shocked by such dumb decision-making, but I'm used to hearing of these type stories now. I mean, Sunderland and the CB from Waco just got booted for theft...but they were still a long ways off from an NFL career. This cat had already been drafted and on the verge of making serious cash. Why do ANYTHING to f#$k that up??!

He was on UT campus when the arrest occurred. Says it wasn't his dope and the gun was legal and "secured appropriately" in his vehicle.

Don't you have to try pretty hard to break gun laws in Texas?

If you watch that LivePD show they can claim they "smell" weed. Problem is there is no burdon of proof to prove they actually smelled it its an arbitrary thing. So they make up a swerving or plate light out or anything they want to stop you then claim they smell it to search your car. Most times they do find weed but the point is smelling is a far fetched reason imo. If they had a device that could register smell now that would be fair and calibratable

Only a few cop cars carry a sniffing dog. And they smell 100 times more accurate than us humanoids.

The problem with a cop saying they smell it is how can you argue it regardless if they did or not? I just think its too arbitrary. If we legalize weed then it resolves the issue. But legal system loves it being illegal they make lots of money off it including private prisons. Its an industry and perpetuates more arrests as these weed criminals have a harder time getting jobs.

But back on topic this guy had a gun.

yeah and my friend in high school got busted with a fake ID trying to buy booze. when the cops came I told em I didn't know he was trying to buy booze even though I was sitting in his car outside a liquor store.

the charges won't make a difference in the long run. its his association with people that had weed and a gun late at night. that'll stick for a while in people's minds. if he's guilty, then that'll take even longer to recover.

i have cop issues. They routinely lie and any movement the dog makes is a hit. If they gun was legal I hope he sues the shit out of the city of Austin.

he'll only have to use that defense if the gun is indeed illegal. if the gun turns out to be legal (like the lawyer says), this entire story is a non-issue. i think every person who has owned a car and had friends ride along in that car has indeed unknowingly had someone in their car with weed.

I've heard from various sources that dogs sense of smell is 3k stronger than humans. not trying to stir up anything just commenting how bad ass dogs are at smellin stuff.
