We’ve been very fortunate to have the versatile Flowers. Riley made great use of him.
Players that can block and run routes provide the optionality that has made this the best offense in NCAA history. The '15 offense was good, but nothing close to this, and that's because of the versatility of Flowers and Andrews, who open up everything this offense does because the defense simply can't plan around them.

That’s not exclusive to Riley’s offense.

A good TE can be valuable for any team. Ditto with WR and RB. All important.

    Generic.

Eldridge and Gresham helped make Wilson’s ‘07 and ‘08 offenses a nightmare to prepare for.

    Most important?

    All positions important.

This is why Ceedee and Brown playing so well has made this offense so effective. I think Lamb had zero receptions against TCU in the championship game and OU still put up 41 points.

This offense uses the TE and FB better than any offense I've ever seen. You can't take the greatest offense in college football history and then compare them to what other teams are doing. The reason they are the best offense is the optionality coming from the FB, TE and RB positions.

The reason this offense is so special because there is versatility at basically every position. All of the backs are effective getting hand offs and catching the ball to varying degrees, All the WRs except maybe Brown are very good blockers as well as receivers (CeeDee will end up being the best pro WR from OU in a long, long time), Andrews is super versatile, Flowers can do everything at an above average to very good rate, line are all effective in in pass and run block...And then Baker.

All of the guys who are deficient at something (Brown in blocking) are elite at something else (Brown taking the top off the D) to make up for it. It's not one or two players that are the "key" except maybe Baker.

And on top of alllllllll of that, the offense has guys who would start on most D1 schools in the 2nd unit. Samia gets kicked out, Powers moves over and Cody Ford comes in, Andrews needs a series to rest, Calcaterra has a huge frame and fresh legs against a tired defense. Sick of chasing Anderson around? How about you take your tired legs in the 4th and try to bring Sermon down.

And on top of all of THAT. You have one of the best play callers/designers in college football orchestrating it.

Just one of those years where everything clicked and there are no weaknesses.
