    Collin Johnson

This is our biggest problem come Saturday. This kid is going to be a match up nightmare for our defense. 6'6" and talented. Ol Mikey better pull his head out of his ass and figure out a way to stop this huge WR.

I'm guessing Mike let's JT take him one on one. That's gonna work out great!!

He's only averaging 20 yards a catch. What's to worry?

Sadly, I agree with you. Thomas shouldn't even be on the field unless it's special teams and that's even iffy.

Jordan Thomas 1 on 1, 10 yard cushion, no safety help. Sounds like a plan for success. Go for it Mike!

[sarcasm] Hey, players just have to make plays, right? Mike can't be out there playing every position. [/sarcasm]

Dude is a stud. Looks and plays like megatron...

I already have bad visions of JT reaching up to CJs neck to bat a pass down that's 12 ft off the ground

Our biggest goal in the secondary should be putting a safety's helmet into johnson's ribs the first time he goes up

LOL. If you're waiting for mike to do anything but get into the fetal position, LOL.

The OU defense will get that number up for him.

MIkey poops will make Ehlinger look like a heisman candidate and he will run for 100 throw for 200...just hope Lincoln can out score them. Start drinking early

We keep the same game plan. Don't adjust it for them. Play to our strength.

    1) Nothing over your head, unless there's under 1 minute to go in the half.
    2) Keep them in front of you make them go down the field in consistent 10 to 12 yard chunks, rather than 1 long one.
    3) Make them take time off the clock, consistent 1:30 second drives as opposed to long bombs.
    4) Take several timeouts on defense to upset their rhythm.

It can't be changed because it already laminated. Once it's laminated it can't be changed.

JT put on a clinic in single coverage at last year's RRS. Kept picking on him for some reason despite the void at the other CB spot.

Only Jordan Thomas can have a game where someone describes him as "putting on a clinic"...yet he still gave up a hail mary touchdown.

Pretty sure it was two touchdowns last year. Jordan Thomas sucks. He will get beat at least once for a long TD this weekend.

Even if Mike's defense was tearing it up right now, he traditionally plays a "left corner" and a "right corner." Johnson will get whoever he lines up against. It's why Thomas shut down Corey Coleman in 2015. Coleman lined up on JT instead of Sanchez (who struggled defending the deep ball at the time). I liked the matchup at the time because JT was playing well and CC hadn't done shit that year at anywhere but left OWR.
    Now... not so much.
Charlie Strong kept throwing to JT's side last year for repeated PBUs (and an INT) when the other side was wide-open all day. Let's hope the Hermburgler tells his guy to throw it at Motley all day.

It's very important though that Mike remembers to put three linebackers 8 yards of the line where they will just stand flat footed until the ball passes them, but that strategy only works if he remembers to put his best pass rusher in coverage.

He put on *half* a clinic, as I recall. 2nd half was less...clinical.

I realize there is a 'Fantasy Sports' forum on Landthieves and maybe I should post this there, but I thought I would float the idea of sound lane discipline, solid tackling and pressure up front. If these things were to happen then it may be possible to survive the one glaring weakness at corner.

Colon Johnson....name is a perfect fit for a team who's coach likes to sprinkle fairy dust and kiss on his players.

Mead might be the least physical player in Big XII basketball much less football. The idea of him jamming a receiver is comical at best.

Their 6'6" guy plays like CeeDee...if he would've signed with a real program, he'd be a household name right now.

I think a 20-25 yard cushion from our DBs will probably be an effective tactic.

    Our D-line vs their O-line.

He was under utilized against Maryland. He tore USC up, but Texas just couldn't keep up.

I'm gonna bet that Mikey pulls the biggest WDE out into coverage from a 3 point stance on the line of scrimmage into some type of zone blitz to cover this guy... Only makes the most sense.

Time for this D-line to step up and dominate. The Texas OL sucks. Shut down the run to put them in long yardage and then get after the QB. Plus the back end has to tackle unlike last week. They'll catch some, but you can't let 10 yarders turn into 60 yarders.

If the OU front doesn't dominate, I'm worried about this game.
