Tarantino possibly making new Trek film

Quentin Tarantino reportedly working with J.J. Abrams on new 'Star Trek' film idea

Apparently Tarantino has come up with a story idea for Star Trek and if they like it he will direct.

Samuel L. Jackson gonna play that black dude with the crazy glasses? .. I don't like Star trek but I'd watch the shit out of this one if Tarantino directs it.

The simple fact that this revelation makes you finally want to watch Star Trek means Star Trek is doomed.

    ****ing why...

He should have offered to write the new Escape from New York. Save something that needs saving from Hollywood's craptastic grasp.

New Trek is iffy...but it's not terrible and it doesn't need Quentin. Have him write the script and let JJ direct if they must.

JJ is already doing Star Wars 9. Can't someone else be given the reigns on Trek?

I'd say Nolan...but he's already talking about doing a Bond film. That doesn't interest me much.

No, JJ must screw up as many franchises as possible with his hammy stories and derivative scripts.

Shocked fan after the initial screening: "It wasn't anything like Star Trek. It was just Mickey and Mallory Konx, 'cept this time they has a spacecraft."

Unless there's a Bruce Willis as Captain Kirk scene, not interested.

    "Snakes on a motherfuckin' spaceship."

"Klingon, motherfucker, do you speak it?"

Then there's gonna be the scene where Spock cuts a guy's ear off.

And a scene where Kirk drinks Romulan Ale off of Uhura's foot.

Don't live in Wichita, but I am a Sooner.

This idea is great but only if Quentin is pitching a next generation movie with himself as Q... The movie can be edited Pulp Fiction style and it would actually just be Q ****ing with the timeline. This is the only option.

Why do people think him doing this will be successful?

Seth McFarlane is making the best Star Trek show since DS9 went off the air. So why not Tarantino?

Likely within the first ten minutes. Then we'll get the backstory of how we got to that point.

I think this idea could be "Tim Burton directing Superman" level bad.

You obviously haven't seen the new Star Wars, then.

Of course, that's more fantasy than sci fi, though.
