I love the bigger backs. I wish we would go to a bigger back type offense. I hate how we try to run the ball in this offense.
Oh yeah, great commit!

"No, I'm done," Bryant said. "I come from a family that once you make a decision like this, that's it. You commit, then you've committed."

Hales interview with Bryant and his coach
Hale compares Bryant to Joe Washington.. umm no James
Bryant sat down with the coaches, great environmental and history of RB
Coach on Bryant: Power Runner with good hands out of the back field calls him a once a decade prospect from his area of Florida if he keeps working at a high level ( same area produced Devin Hester)
Bryant " I have a work ethic where if I coming a chance I'll take advantage and perform at a high level at Oklahoma
Coach: Was a 8th grader playing on the varsity squad was the lead WR for the team, dominated the state champ game with 243 yards, Greg fits right in with what formation plays Oklahoma runs
Asked about p**** blocking: I'm good at it, but always room to improve on anything
Lots of talent in his district, not playing against scrubs
Coach hypes his program and all of the kids work hard and Bryant is a team leader
Bryant bought several hundred dollars of Sooner gear and his coach only got a sticker HA!

".Green and Bryant are two of the best backs in the state so it was no surprise to see them look good in just about everything they did. As good as Green performed, Bryant might have been more impressive with the way he got out of the backfield and ran routes. He dropped one here or there but it was still pretty amazing to see a guy as big as he was move as well as he did. Bryant also made sure to keep his Oklahoma socks high so everybody could see where he was committed to. Florida commit Adam Lane had a solid performance as well but didn't jump out during drills. "

I hope this kid becomes one of the lead recruiters for other prospects in the Cl**** of 2012-2013 AND for so long as he's at OU. I ****ing love all of the OU gear he's wearing!

Bryant Prepares to Shine at Rivals 5 Star Challenge
Of the Top 15 running backs in the Cl**** of 2013, six are from Florida and so choosing one to represent the South in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge could have presented a difficult challenge until the top-ranked Greg Bryant expressed his interest.
"I felt like it was a chance to show that I am the best in the country," Bryant said. "I am excited that I can go out and show what I can do."
Bryant is the No. 4-ranked running back in the country and the top-ranked in Florida.
The Oklahoma commit said that he wasn't surprised to be a part of the invitation-only event but that he is very excited to get to Atlanta and showcase his ability.
"There won't be a place to get more exposure," he said. "It is a place that I can show I am the best."
Greg Bryant is prepared to prove his spot atop the Florida RB ranking.
As part of the offensive design at Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage, Bryant said that much of his time is spent running the ball and not catching passes out of the backfield.
He only had nine receptions as a junior - but averaged 30 yards per catch and scored two touchdowns.
"It isn't really what we do there," he said. "It is mostly a strong running attack and we don't p**** too much."
Bryant carried the ball 224 times for 2,180 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2011 and helped his team to a 12-1 record and a Cl**** 3A state title.
Despite the lack of receptions, Bryant said that he isn't worried that it will hold him back come June 22-24 at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta.
"I played receiver in eighth grade so I can catch," he said. "The moved me to running back and I have thrived there but I can catch and I like running the routes."
According to Bryant the biggest hole in his game is blocking and that is something that he can not work on in during the summer circuit but his effectiveness in the passing game is.
"I need to work on p**** protection," he said. "I know that if I want to play early that I will have to get better there.
"But for this summer stuff I do get to work on my route running and that is something that will make me a complete player, too. There are things that you can take away from every opportunity and I think that is the biggest thing."
As part of the inaugural Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge, Bryant thinks that getting out and competing in the summer is important. Even for a player that likes to be lay low like he does.
"I like going to the beach and working out, but staying pretty quiet is my normal summer," he said. "But when I get the chance to improve it is something that I think everyone should do if they don't want to fall behind.
"Everyone out there is trying to get to the NFL, we are all already going to college, so sitting it out is only going to set you back."
Mike Farrell's take
There is a hot debate amongst all the recruiting analysts in the country in regards to who is the top running back in the state of Florida since it's loaded this year but our guy is Bryant and we expect him to cement that status at the challenge. He is a big kid and a downhill runner, but he has played receiver before becoming a running back and he has the speed to make a short catch into a long gain. We will see how shifty he is in space for a big man and if he can be a weapon in 7 on 7 because running backs can often be under utilized.
"I need to work on p**** protection," he said. "I know that if I want to play early that I will have to get better there."
Gotta love his attitude. No sense of entitlement whatsoever. He knows he has to earn his way.
This guy has a great attitude. I'm excited for him to get to Norman!
I really like this kid. Seems to have great work ethic and a great attitude.
That dude is jacked...we're getting two really big & fast backs this year. NICE!!!
He's visiting Auburn this weekend. Chizik will have his check book out.
Uh-oh
meh if he flips we got time to get another rb. im not worried
What the hell is this? Is it normal for a commit to continue visiting? Is it likely he flips? This is the first I've heard that he's still looking around.
On his twitter, some auburn fan asked if he was changing his mind on the soonersports. He simply said "Na I'm OU"

A good sign I suppose.

Meh, if the kid is visiting places, then his commitment is pretty much worthless. Obviously he likes OU and there's a very good chance that he still signs with us, but if you're visiting other programs you're not particularly committed.
I would argue that side if he's taking visits in January, but its June the kid committed early and they deserve to look around. its their choice man, i'd rather him get the visits out of his system early ( whatever the outcomess of those visits may be) than him doing it/ and possibly decommiting in mid january
It's a non-binding commitment, he's entitled to do whatever he wants. I'm just saying that visiting other places goes against the whole concept of a "commitment". Right now we are Greg's favorite, but he's looking at other schools. That's the reality of the situation, regardless of how anyone wants to characterize it.
if youre a 17 year old kid, and you tell everyone youre committed to one school, but other schools offer to fly you to their campus, give you free food, treat you like a king and surround you with hot women, are you gonna turn em down?
i hope he doesnt switch and dont think he will, but its unrealistic to think that kids who commit early wont want to enjoy the recruiting process from time to time. ****ing about it is what Mack Brown does.

He is going on an unofficial visit on his own dime. And it's ****ign Auburn, Alabama, not USC or something. He's not trying to score a free trip to the beach. The kid has every right to do so, but he's considering other schools, and it's foolish to pretend otherwise. The coaches need to keep their options open in case he eventually decommits.
Kids passing up a weekend of favored treatment, good free food, and possibly coeds like the vols chick treating them like legends? Not surprised a kid might go for that even if he stays committed.
I didn't see any hate coming from you. And I agree with you about the speed, though I will say that while top-end speed is nice, it's really not the key component in a good back (see Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Mark Ingram, etc.)
I have to take some pause when I consider Bama, USC, LSU, and Florida all gave this kid a look. I'm not sure what your recruitting cred is, but mine isn't good enough to overcome that lineup.
Nothing to worry about.. He is committed to OU. He is just having fun going around checking other places out. I would if I was in his shoes. They get treated like kings when they go to visits. If you busted your **** in the gym and on the field, might as well milk the recruiting process for all its got.
Check out the Socks!!!

part of an interview on ESPN Insider SoonerNation about Greg Bryant
So he's missing that one, but he did say he wants his next visit to be to OU sometime in July and wants to take an official visit during the season. "Hey, I'm OU all the way, baby! I want to see it as many times as I can."
Much more with Bryant later in the week.
When usaosooner tweeted that Greg Bryant video earlier, I clicked on Greg's twitter handle. I was looking over his timeline, and damn Auburn fans are really ****ing annoying (Gamecocks too to a lesser degree). Constantly pestering him about changing his commit. Maybe this is common because I don't look at players or recruits twitter very often, but regardless, it annoying. Really sad that grown men have nothing better to do.
Okay, so it was on our Rivals front page, and it's also on the front page of Rivals.com with a more ominous headline "4-star RB may change course" (which is tied to the South Carolina page). WTF? Come on, Greg! We want you here bro! You said, "Hey, I'm OU all the way, baby!" Time to prove it son!

I thought we wanted him here.
I'm tempted to agree with drspencer here. First it was Auburn, now it is South Carolina. The kid said he wanted to be here and that he was a man of his word. We'll find out soon enough if he is or isn't.
Oh I know. It's all about shock-factor and sensationalism in order to get clicks or subscriptions. That's why I didn't pay any mind when it was on our page. But when the headline elsewhere read "may change course", you have the option to read that two different ways. Either 1. Bryant said something to that effect, or 2. The author is a ****head making a general statement that is applicable to ANY commit ANYWHERE in order to try and boost clicks and/or subscriptions.
