I think UF will take quite a hit, especially comparing what happened to Texas in the polls last week. My top five would be
1. Cal
2. ASU
3. Bama
4. OU
5. Florida/ULL/Tennessee
Also some good series comin that can shake up rankings and conference standings. OU/UT and UF/Bama this week, and Cal/ASU either this week or next
We'll also see how good Louisville is, they play Tennessee Wednesday
Sooners ranked #3 in tfs poll and #4 in new nfca poll, still one more to come out
Edit: Also #3 in asa/espn poll

OU's ranking is about where they should be. Fits them perfect, even with their high number of losses. (for the top 5 that's a lot of losses).
Wow, Tennesse 8, Lousville 1.
Texas beats Baylor 4-3, making the big 12 match this weekend even bigger.
Just to add to chucks post, Tennessee did that without their best offensive player Raven Chavanne. Also Mizzou split with Murray State tonight, bad loss
goign to the last texas inning, 9-2 good girls.
oops. still not big 12 champions...
edited. Mizzou is still within 3 games.

OU softball has been a tear of late. Seems like the offense has caught up with the pitching. This might be the year to make a deep run into the NCAAs.
Plus it's always great to smash Texas in any sport.
Kudos to the Lady Sooners,
We're on ESPN right now
OU trailing 4-1 right now. Ricketts just came on in relief.
Trailing Texas by 3. Let's rally Sooners.
it's 4-4! 1 out. 1 on, OU has exploded here in the 5th.
another bases loaded hit! 5-4 OU! bases loaded, 1 out.
Still dunno why that was an illegal pitch!
Well ****!!!
Boom goes the dynamite...
getting beat like they did something wrong.
the 12 runs allowed by OU is the most given up since 03/28/09 when texas won 15-6.

OU has a 3 game lead in the Big 12. Plays at I-State, who won 2 conference games, next weekend. Need 1 of 3 to clinch tie and 2 wins to win outright. If the teams behind OU lose, the path to 1st is even easier.
GO SOONERS!
While watching the game yesterday I noticed the girls have something on their left arm. Part of it looks like an ace bandage and the other part almost looks like it has some sort of writing - almost like when QB have plays on their arm. Anyone in the know know what those are?
Sooners spank Iowa State 10-0 and are officially big 12 champions.
Sooners Thump Lehigh 19-3. Will face Tulsa at 1pm tomorrow.
Regional Finals Holl****
Thanks. I'd never seen that before. Things have sure changed since I used to coach.
Glad to see us doing so well. I've seen a couple national wags picking us to win it all. I'm just worried that we'll see MU somewhere down the road. Last year we were on TV all the time here. Not so much this year. Very frustrating.
Regional Final live on soonersports.com.
#4 Oklahoma vs. #24 Oregon State

Shults hits a grand slam. 4-0 Sooners with 1 out. top of the 1st
OU beats Oregon State 6-0 and are regional Champions. OU should host Arizona next week for the super regional.
Just as a heads up if u don't follow chuck on twitter you should do so if u need updates on the games. Proud of this team, you never know who will step up and play big, but when they all show up, LOOK OUT! Boomer!
Strongest looking team we've had in a while. These girls are a legitimate threat to win the whole thing. Several of the top teams stumbled a little in the regionals while OU breezed through. Looking strong!!
Go knock out Arizona, and we'll see you in OKC!
OU will host Zona.
Game 1 (ESPNU)
Friday at 1pm
Game 2 (ESPN)
Saturday at 11am
Game 3 (ESPN) (if necessary)
Saturday at 1:30pm
Tickets are like $10. No reason to watch the games on tv. get out and support these girls.
saw the game streamed on computer. Team looked great. Kelani was sensational on the hill. She has really come into her own and to think I questioned if she was overhyped early in the season when she had a few rough outings.
Good crowd. How many seats in that stadium. Thought I saw a figure of 1,100 at the game. Those young women
deserve 5,000 the way they are playing. This has got to be the best OU team in any sport this year regardless how they do the rest of their tourney run.
Playing against flippin Arizona again? Seems like we play them every year in post season play.
What are YOU smoking?
Look at their losses (38-17 record)
#27 Georgia Tech
#11 Georgia
Nebraska (33-22 finish)
New Mexico State
Swept by #2 Arizona State
#16 Stanford
#18 Washington
2 to #1 California
2 to #15 UCLA
2 to #12 Oregon
#24 Oregon State
They have some really big wins, and all their losses have been to really good teams.
Doing a little research on Arizona, they hit the ball really well. They are up around .300 for batting average as a team. They are also in the upper tier of the nation in both slugging percentage and home runs. Where OU, I feel has a very big advantage is on the hill. OU has a team ERA of 1.17 which leads the nation and Rickets is right around the 1.00 mark. Whereas, Arizona has a team ERA of 2.95 which is towards the bottom of the country and this not a good ERA at all in softball. I think the Sooners advance to the WCWS based on this advantage
