Was gonna go and be up there at 9 when they open, but called first to see if they had any left. Apparently they opened at 8 for a doorbuster sale. They had 2 left, but they were being looked at....so I am sure they are gone now. They got those, they will get more. We're househunting right now anyway, so I can wait a little longer to get one.

Dammit.

All guns shoot what they are aiming at, just that some have a hard time aiming at what they want to hit. ;-)

maybe he is on the market for a black rifle.
i'm not. i am trying to finish my conversion though. need more monies...
Walking through walmart last night, and saw a group of guys standing around in sporting goods. Thought it might be a good sign. Walked back and asked one of them what had came in, and the response i got was we don't know, we are just waiting to see if anything came in. Talked to the ****ociate that works back there and she said they come in every night at about 7:30pm and wait around until 9pm to see if ammo or AR-15's come in. They buy as much as they can, and come back at 7am and do it again. It kinda pissed me off, because I knew the faces of a few off of a Facebook buy/sell/trade sight, and they were some of the ones charging 5x what they paid for 22lr, and double and triple on AR-15s.
In the market for an AR.
Been doing some research.
I saw an add online where some guy is trying to sell 223 ammo for $70/$75 per 100 rds . . .
It isn't price gouging. It's low supply, with high demand. Econ 101.

Finally got some .22lr this morning at Academy. Another guy in line bought an extra box for me as well. 525 Winchester 36gr HP for $19.99.

Dropped by a local dealer here today. They had some M&P's, bushmasters and windham AR's. Their price was still about 30% too much, but falling back more in line. They had some 223 and 5.56 ammo that wasn't outrageous and no limit.

OK came across a Howa rifle package today in .308. Anyone have experience with these? Checked out YouTube, and it looks exactly like a Remington 700 TAC, but wondering if it shoots like one? Great value for the money but wondering if its a good piece?

Always heard great things about Howa, never owned one, but the couple I have shot were very accurate.

Pretty much a 45-70 that can be shot out of an AR type rifle. Slow and Heavy.
The gun in the top of the picture IS NOT an ****ault weapon and the gun pictured below IS an ****ault weapon. [/THREAD]

I've looked at that one as well as some others like the 450 Bushmaster. If I were to look at building a big caliber AR though, I think it would be the .458 SOCOM. From what I have read there are more hand loading options out there and more versatility out of that round thank the others.
I would just use the AR-10 platform if I wanted a big caliber. During non panic times, it is only a couple hundred more to build an AR-10.
