Cy-Ranch is one of 11 H.S.'s in the Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. The district is one of the big three suburban districts in the western suburbs of Houston......Ft. Bend I.S.D., Katy I.S.D. and Cy-Fair.

If you've ever driven up U.S. 290/S.H.6 from Houston to a game in College Station, you've past right by the administrative offices and Cy-Fiar H.S., the original H.S. in the district.

I LOL'd! If that was the case he would be a unanimous 5* recruit by all the recruitung sites (All the sites have him about a mid 4* recruit). He is the best True RB in the state of Texas for 2013, though. But he's not as good the 5* RBs that came outta Texas the last couple of years (Johnathen Gray, Trey Williams and Malcolm Brown.)

Guess whoever wrote it didn't know what they were talking about then. The article talked about how his school has only played football for two years and has only graduated one senior cl**** thus far. It may have been the author's opinion and not based on recruiting rankings.

Essentially they were speculating that since his teams were made up almost exclusively of underclassmen in high school that he didn't have the help that say a Malcolm Brown would have had at Steele.

It will be interesting to see how his recruiting rank is adjusted this year. His team is likely to be a lot better.

Texas only wants guys that will commit 5 seconds after getting an offer. If they don't commit then, then they were never really offered.

Scout just re-did their ranking for the top 250, Ford is a 5* and the #2 RB in the nation. As the year goes on, Rivals and Espn will be saying the same. The guy is every bit as good as the players you listed.

Cy Ranch is about 15 minutes away from me and I have a friend who is a freshman QB on their JV team. He said Ford is a man among boys out there. I plan on catching a few games this next season. Hopefully Matt Dimon will commit to OU and we'll have two Sooners in this area.

Probably cuz they knew he was a Sooner lean and they don't like admitting they lost out on a recruit to Oklahoma.

I agree with you. He is every bit as good as Gray or Brown at Texas. Like you said he is just as high as a recruit on scout, being a 5 star and the 14th ranked player in the nation and 247sports has him at the highest rated 4 star and 18th ranked player in nation. As well as 2nd best back as well in their 13 cl****, but said he will possibly be a 5 star when his season gets going in the fall. Rivals has him as the most underated and they know the same thing he will be one of the top 3 backs on their site as well. I will be suprised to see what ESPN has him at when their 150 comes out. Ole Tom Lugy is the biggest I mean the BIGGEST Texas shorthorn supporter I have ever seen and its rediculous. When you see a shorthorn commit go from 30th best player to 2nd best in espnu 150 its becomes a total joke. Sterling Shepard did nothin but wow people and drop all season. Anyways he has something personal against OU and that is why you see OU recruits drop all year and shorthorn recruits rise every damn year. Watch he will either drop or not be ranked where he should be is all I am saying. Tuck Fom Lugy

You are correct, sir. The same thing happened to Kameel Jackson's ratings, but that was mitigated by the fact that he was hurt his senior year. But as a junior, he was rated right behind Metoyer and Jay Norvell wanted him badly and got an early commitment from KJ.

I think that we should temper our outrage against the strong possibility that this bias works in our favor in the long run. Our recruits are under-rated, the whorns' recruits are over-rated and when we beat them, it makes our players and coaches look even better. Believe me that is noticed more than who won the February rankings.

Moreover, their players are judged by the League to be soft and under-coached, which also works in our favor.

100% correct, the Texas staff and espn recruiting in texas is all into one. Which is why they are 9 times out of 10 overated. I love how our staff evaluates our recruits. I am hoping this year is the year we finally land some great DB's which I think could be the best secondary cl**** ever under Stoops.

"Ford has taken extra steps for self-improvement by participating in the Parisi Speed School, a performance-enhancement training company with multiple locations around the country. One look at the 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back on the football field shows the results of his extensive training.

Ford has increased his quickness and flexibility and he is a much stronger player compared to last season. Ford said his 40-yard dash time has dropped from 4.5 seconds to 4.37 seconds. His maximum bench press is now 315 pounds, and his maximum squat is 425.

"With the speed school, speed and strength are the keys," said Ford's father, Keith Sr. "I've seen a remarkable difference from when he started. Right now, he's just doing a lot of fine tuning.

Keith Ford is back, and all he really wants to do is play football.

    http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2012/0519/recruit_e_ford_b1_200.jpg

Now that the ESPN 150 running back from Cypress (Texas) Cy Ranch is healthy and his recruiting process is over, nothing is standing in his way. Ford is happily entering the summer with a clear head and a clean bill of health.

His summer started Saturday at the Houston Under Armour Sevens tournament at Klein Oak High School. Ford was his usual explosive self as an inside receiver and led Cy Ranch to a 4-1 record and a third-place finish.

    [+] Enlarge
    Max Olson
Oklahoma commit Keith Ford, No. 38 in the ESPN 150 and the nation's No. 3 RB, showed he's completely healthy again at the Houston UA Sevens.
"Nobody can keep up with him," Cy Ranch 7-on-7 coach Darrell Johnson said. "He's every bit as good without the pads as he is with them."
And Ford is every bit as happy, too, after spending the winter sidelined following surgery for his fractured right foot. He was limited to only non-contact action in Ranch's practices this spring.

That injury certainly didn't slow down Ford's recruitment. The Oklahoma commit earned offers and attention from elite programs across the country, from USC to Ohio State to Florida State.

Everyone wanted a piece of the 5-foot-10, 200-pound back who's ranked third in the country at his position and 38th in the ESPN 150. So Ford's parents came up with a plan to handle the recruiting process.

"Me and his mom served as a filter. You've got to control it," father Keith Ford Sr. said. "I mean, he's a teenager. If you give that [responsibility] to them too soon, sometimes they don't know how to handle it and things can get taken out of context."

Coaches and reporters had to go through dad if they wanted to chat. The parents cut out the noise and avoided any drama. Ford's cell phone still rang constantly, of course, but he ended up appreciating his family's approach.

"My coach would ask me if I wanted to talk to USC and all these other schools, and at first I said 'Yeah.' After a while, it got way too hectic," Ford said. "I'd have to call a different coach every day. That excitement went away. I wanted to get the pressure off of my back."

Ford and his father have been researching possible college destinations since his sophomore year, so trimming down his list of schools to five wasn't difficult.

Though Ford felt plenty of pressure to consider Texas and Texas A&M, he felt no urge to stay in-state. Ford Sr. is a retired Marine, and his family has moved around plenty -- including a five-year stint in Okinawa, ****an.

Ford was willing to play anywhere, and his father now says the final five was OU, Wisconsin, Florida State, Michigan and Nebraska. Wisconsin managed to emerge as the surprise runner-up despite the fact Ford couldn't visit Madison this spring. Ford made his verbal pledge to the Sooners during a junior day visit on March 3, saying he felt he fit in at Oklahoma. Plus, his parents bonded with OU running backs coach Cale Gundy because he was candid and told Ford exactly where he fit in the program's plans.

Right after he delivered his commitment, Ford went to OU's on-campus bookstore and loaded up on Sooners swag. He wore his T-shirts, hats and jackets every day for several weeks. He was proud, yes, but also glad that process was over.

The process of rehabbing his foot was far more frustrating, but that's finally over as well.

"I was kind of bummed out because I wanted to play basketball, but I had to sacrifice it to get better, and I had to think long term a little bit too," he said. "At first I was shocked and kind of down a little, but the surgery was what's best for me and my future."

Ford showed no signs of a limp on the field Saturday as he cut through defenses and hauled in passes over the middle.

He's not done showing off his Sooner pride, either. Ford wore an Oklahoma hat on the sidelines throughout the day, and his father sported a crimson No. 5 jersey with "Ford" on the back.

Cypress Ranch lost to eventual regional champion The Woodlands (Texas) College Park in the semifinals Saturday. That loss stung, Ford said, but he can't complain too much. After the past few months he's had, he'd been looking forward to lacing up the cleats and going full-speed again.

"It really does feel good to be out here with my teammates," Ford said. "It really feels good just to be playing football."

Loved the read and proves my point even more about how much of a stud this guy is and will be in the future. Texas landed the best RB last year in Gray and ESPN's Tom Lugy said yeah Gray ran a 4.26-40 at Longhorn camp. Then later on in the year he was actually ET at 4.61 and the whorns coaches were not impressed which is too funny and overated. Ford is the real deal and will own Gray.

Keith Ford, RB, senior, Cy Ranch After rushing for 915 yards in seven games last year, the Oklahoma commit could be in for a monster year.

Keith was also honored by the Houston TD club this last week as a gamebreaker

Ford had a hell of a night tonight. 3 Fumbles (1 lost) and got ejected after a "late" tackle. Not the best night for him. Wont play next week cause of the ejection

He and Alex Ross are going to kill Big 12 defenses. Alex is a top notch sprinter and has power and Ford has that top speed and power as well and will be very fun to watch.
