Tried this recipe from the Pioneer Woman site:

    http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc27/dweebius/3882586989_159460f0f4_zps2de83f61.jpg?t=1359832129

    http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2...-cheese-sauce/

I did a sorry job on it, unfortunately. Overcooked the onions, steak I bought was too big for the grill pan and cooked unevenly, and using gorgonzola instead of a more crumbly blue didn't seem to work. Definitely need more practice before fixing it for more than just myself.

Do you use tomato sauce in the meat and rice mixture? What other ingredients besides the ground turkey, brown rice, and corn go into the mixture? I love stuffed bell peppers but I've always used the traditional ground beef, white rice, tomato sauce, and garlic salt in the mixture.

I used ground turkey with s&p and chili powder, brown rice cooked in chicken broth, an 8 oz can tomato sauce with garlic, minced garlic (not sure, maybe a tablespoon), prolly a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and pico in 2 of them (Im allergic to onions). No corn. The little bit of cheese on top is extra sharp.

You use corn? I've never tried that.

OK, I get it now. You had corn on the side, not corn in the bell pepper ... I misunderstood. No, I wouldn't put corn in it.

I live in 49er country, so the big super bowl party is where I ate. They grilled rib eyes, but the best thing was the grilled asparagus. Glad we can now get good asparagus in the winter. Also had grilled mushroom and bell peppers. There were two shrimp ceviches - I brought the better (by a kilometer) one.

Someone made guacamole whipped smooth like mayo. what kind of ****ic **** is that? Guacamole needs some texture.

I put the shrimp in a baggie with a lil EVOO, Old Bay, lemon, minced garlic, a lil bit of chopped up bacon, s&p, and a Cajun ****e for like an hour, then poured in all in a pan & cooked for like 10 min. Served over steamed rice with the marinade as a sauce. Super easy & yum.

I made a southwest version of dirty rice. Turkey smoked sausage with tomatoes and green chilies with brown rice.

    Looks great!

It appears to be shrimp w/ tobiko on top, but I can't make out the maki ingredients. I love a touch of green onion garnish like that with maki. I can't explain it, but it goes particularly well with salmon.

    What kind of make?

went to Alebrijes Bistro in Lodi.

Had a ****tail Vuelve a la vida (Back to life). It's a Veracruz seafood ****tail with Shrimp, Octopus, oysters, and clams. The seafood was perfect. The sauce was kicking.

It looked very much like this:

    http://a1.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/19/03e0096091b766db6ae891db04ce8cc7/l.jpg

Also had sopa tarasca, which is a tortilla soup with a chile pasilla and ****e puree, with tortilla strips, avocado, chicken and queso cotija. I've made many variations of tortilla soup, but I can't replicate the great flavor they created.

****anese Baked Mussels at a restaurant last night. The coating is made from ****anese mayo (very different from regular mayo), sriracha, and tobiko (flying fish roe). Fantastic. A couple of years ago, I went on a baked mussels binge and made these until I got tired of them.

    My son took a pic:

    http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af80/sanjoaquinsooner/mussels_zps17679880.jpg

Also had toro sushi (fatty tuna). I've had the standard sushi grade tuna, I've had white tuna, and I've had ****y tuna, but this is the first time I can recall eating fatty tuna. It was great.

Deseed jalapeños & slice either in rings or lengthwise. Then I contoured the peppers along side the shrimp, wrapped it with a half a piece of bacon, & secured with a toothpick. You might be able to tell a little better in this pic.

My son's home for the weekend from college, so I try to fix things he doesn't get in the dining hall.

Saturday night we had ribeyes, Mexican rice, and salad. Tonight it was baby-back ribs, baked beans, and cole slaw.

Over easy eggs for breakfast both mornings, which he doesn't get in the dorms.
