Food is for pussies.
Red cabbage mixed with andouille sausage and cheese.
Tried this recipe from the Pioneer Woman site:
I did a sorry job on it, unfortunately. Overcooked the onions, steak I bought was too big for the grill pan and cooked unevenly, and using gorgonzola instead of a more crumbly blue didn't seem to work. Definitely need more practice before fixing it for more than just myself.
You use corn? I've never tried that.
Had this last night and the night before with a baked tater and cream cheese.
Oh, it was just corn on the cob as a side. Sorry, I'm a lil fuzzy today
Fried oyster po boy, spinach/artichoke dip among other dips, red cabbage salad and homemade bread pudding.
I live in 49er country, so the big super bowl party is where I ate. They grilled rib eyes, but the best thing was the grilled asparagus. Glad we can now get good asparagus in the winter. Also had grilled mushroom and bell peppers. There were two shrimp ceviches - I brought the better (by a kilometer) one.
Someone made guacamole whipped smooth like mayo. what kind of sadistic shit is that? Guacamole needs some texture.
Half a baked sweet potato, some cottage cheese and some spinach and mushroom salad
Sub-par pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, ice cream.
Post game wings at Appleebees while watching KU choke on TCU's ****s. Wings were only .45$ each.
Chicken Breast, red beans n rice
Last night I had a bowl of raisin bran, tonight I am trying my hand at some red curry beef. Fingers crossed.
ham samiches and tea
King crab legs !
It appears to be shrimp w/ tobiko on top, but I can't make out the maki ingredients. I love a touch of green onion garnish like that with maki. I can't explain it, but it goes particularly well with salmon.
What kind of make?
It's calamari roll with crawfish. Mmmmm.
went to Alebrijes Bistro in Lodi.
Had a ****tail Vuelve a la vida (Back to life). It's a Veracruz seafood ****tail with Shrimp, Octopus, oysters, and clams. The seafood was perfect. The sauce was kicking.
It looked very much like this:
Also had sopa tarasca, which is a tortilla soup with a chile pasilla and ****e puree, with tortilla strips, avocado, chicken and queso cotija. I've made many variations of tortilla soup, but I can't replicate the great flavor they created.
Filet with ancho Chile sauce.

Japanese Baked Mussels at a restaurant last night. The coating is made from Japanese mayo (very different from regular mayo), sriracha, and tobiko (flying fish roe). Fantastic. A couple of years ago, I went on a baked mussels binge and made these until I got tired of them.
My son took a pic:
Also had toro sushi (fatty tuna). I've had the standard sushi grade tuna, I've had white tuna, and I've had ****y tuna, but this is the first time I can recall eating fatty tuna. It was great.
Stopped off at On The Border in Lawrence after going to the game with my daughter. Had grilled chicken fajitas with grilled squash and peppers and onions.
My son's home for the weekend from college, so I try to fix things he doesn't get in the dining hall.
Saturday night we had ribeyes, Mexican rice, and salad. Tonight it was baby-back ribs, baked beans, and cole slaw.
Over easy eggs for breakfast both mornings, which he doesn't get in the dorms.
Greenbeans , chicken, and mashed cauliflower
