When I say he reminds me of someone, I mean his playing style. I'm not saying what he's going to accomplish once he gets here. As for the DT comment, if we're going to defeat the SEC in the championship game, we need to be big across the front. Moving LB's to D-end and D-ends to DT will get you through the Big 12 but it'll be tough going against the elite SEC teams with undersized linemen IMHO.
By the way, I coach a little football down here in SEC territory so I'm one step above armchair. This is the type of conversation I've had with other coaches down here. We'll see a kid that may be recruited as a fullback by a team outside of the region, whereas the same kid would be recruited as a Tailback in this area. Same with LB's and DEnds. 220-250 and your most likely playing Linebacker. 250-275 Defensive end. D-tackles generally 290 and up. There are a few guys that grow into a different position, however most 250 pound D-ends grow into 270 pound d-ends and not D-tackles.

I really like the pick up, he isnt a speed rush end, which we will need with Texas embracing the running game

    Matt Dimon, DE, senior, Katy

The 6-3, 255-pound Oklahoma commit was a standout tight end/defensive end last season. He'll spend more time as an edge rusher this year. Wherever he lines up, he's a force.

"Matt Dimon showed what a D1 recruit looks like tonight, the kid dominated whoever was in front of him, and at times dominated the double teams. There was no answer for him all night long." - from last week's scrimmage

Exactly. If Millard was on bama or lsu he would be a tailback.

Katy blew out Klein 48-7. Had 4 tackles in very limited time the first team held Klein to just 17 yards and then we're all pulled

Thanks, man. I couldn't find anything in the way of stats! I looked for probably an hour and got nothing besides a recap that basically said Klein was outmatched.

@LandThieves Like a beast. He was in the backfield all night. Not sure how many sacks, but probably 2+.

Only thing I have found so far: "Dimon was a force all night as Katy gave The Woodlands its worst loss in school history with a 63-10 victory. The Woodlands rushed for 25 yards on 17 carries. Katy now has a 31-game regular season winning streak. "

More: "Dimon had one sack, numerous hurries and was a huge piece of his Katy Tigers dismantling The Woodlands, 63-10."

BJW continues to shine at recruitment and position coaching. Despite the fact that he coached DBs at texas for many years, I think he's much better coaching DEs. We're lucky to have him.

We should be in good shape at DE for the foreseeable future.

The Lobos' runningback tried to outrun Matt Dimon laterally. Yeah, that is a really bad idea.

    KatyTimesSports
Matt Dimon with the sack on the play. The Lobos took a return to the Katy 25 yard line and lost 10 yards on the drive.

    Katyfootball
Fiest's gonna have nightmares of Matt Dimon chasing him in his sleep tonight.

Katy beat LaPorte 55-10 in the playoffs today and face Cy Ranch and KEITH FORD next Saturday at 1:00, Rice Stadium. Sooner fans should check it out if they're in town. I'm going for sure!

Man I wish this game was in Austin, so I could see it. Too far of a drive for me for a high school game. Hopefully the team that moves on will get a game here at DKR, so I can make the short drive to it.

Dimon's Katy team defeated Keith Ford's Cy Ranch squad 70-21 in the state quarterfinals. "We're happy about this win, but we're going to have a challenge next week," said Katy defensive end Matt Dimon, who had two of the defense's four sacks. Katy held the Mustangs scoreless until midway through the third quarter. Cy Ranch had eight first-half possessions with five ending with punts and three interceptions by Katy's Quinn Atwood.

Dimon's Katy Tigers are playing for the Texas state championship against the Cedar Hill Longhorns at Jerry World right now. Should be televised on your Fox Sports regional affiliate.

Good luck to Dimon. Beat the Longhorns.

Dimon looking good considering that he's getting doubled. He's faster that I thought.

Almost every play for Cedar Hill is going in the opposite direction of Dimon.

Katy down 24-21 now after a couple quick strikes from Cedar Hill.

Katy wins 35-24 behind Corn commit Adam Taylor's 275 yards and 5 TDs. Matt Dimon received the Defensive MVP and Taylor got the offensive one.

Lol he does not even like A&M and was quoted recently why he would never go there and why he will never sway from OU. He said he knows he can play for NC at Oklahoma and that is never a factor with the aggies. He is right, Oklahoma will always be much superior then A&M and the gies will never play for NCs.

‏@Jordan_E**** /> Not really a fan of the talk that Texas is sniffing around #Sooners DE commit Matt Dimon. Another case of OU doing the Horns eval for them.

read this on twitter earlier, is this something to worry about?

Matt Dimon is a 100% Sooner commit and wants to play for NC. I promise he is one guy we do not have to worry about in this cl****.

    Named 1st Team All Houston

    Matt Dimon, L, Sr., Katy

The Oklahoma commit and second-team all-state pick led a defense that allowed 12.9 points per game on the way to the Cl**** 5A Division II state championship.
