Moving LB's to D-end and D-ends to DT will get you through the Big 12 but it'll be tough going against the elite SEC teams with undersized linemen IMHO.
By the way, I coach a little football down here in SEC territory so I'm one step above armchair. This is the type of conversation I've had with other coaches down here. We'll see a kid that may be recruited as a fullback by a team outside of the region, whereas the same kid would be recruited as a Tailback in this area. Same with LB's and DEnds. 220-250 and your most likely playing Linebacker. 250-275 Defensive end. D-tackles generally 290 and up. There are a few guys that grow into a different position, however most 250 pound D-ends grow into 270 pound d-ends and not D-tackles.
