we didnt offer any other QBs. we usually only offer one at a time. if he commits elsewhere (last year with Max Browne), then we throw another offer out there somewhere (Cody Thomas last year). We havent had much trouble getting our 1st or 2nd choice the last few years so Im not sure what would happen if we got shut out of our top 2 or 3 guys.....Originally Posted by 61sooner

I think Bell or Thompson should start this fall but I'm really excited with what Trevor knight brings to the table too. He will be a really good one i think. The talent level at qb right now is sick and almost depressing because between Bell, Thompson, Knight, Thomas, and Hansen, we'll unfortunately lose someone to a transfer, and I personally would love to see them all get a shot at commanding our offense.

Josh has been excellent recruiting QBs. You are right, we rarely do have to go to our third option.
Sooner518 is right, 61sooner (geeze, sounds like an audible...). We don't make multiple offers, just express interest and see how that interest is returned.
I say we drop the Justice name completely and start MMMBop'n the **** out of this guy.

Bell doesn't matter cos he will be a SR when Hansen is on campus.
As for Thomas, Knight and Thompson.
Thomas is arguably the most talented QB OU has ever signed. The kids physical talent is just that good. But, Major League Baseball could be his future and who knows if he will ever be able to put it all together upstairs while splitting his focus between football & baseball while at OU.
I think in terms of arm talent that Hansen is ahead of both Knight & especially Thompson. Knight has what looks like a very strong arm but Hansen's accuracy appears to be better from film, especially on deep balls.
With Thompson, I think Hansen is far and away a better passer. But KT has athleticism that none of the other QB's do.
Another great part of the Hansen commitment is that he's so close. He can come to all the games and recruit the official visitors.
ESPN ranked Hansen the #5 QB in the country and the #3 dual-threat. In comparison, Cornwell was #2 and #1 pocket passer. Both have the tools to be successful at the next level, but Hansen fits the recent trend of OU offering mobile QBs. Plus Hansen is a legacy and has had a great relationship with Heupel for many years.

Draft is the 1st week in June. The last time that came into play we had 2 QBs signed and one, Archie went BB. But that draft took place the same year the QBs were to come to OU. If Hansen would happen to that route then OU has plenty of time to grab another QB.
I think you are confusing Hansen with our 2013 signee Cody Thomas.
That is what I was thinking. I don't recall hearing any buzz about Hansen in relation to the MLB draft. Cody Thomas, on the other hand, is still a wait and see situation -- but last I heard Stoops was confident Cody would end up at OU this season.
