Thomas is just a junior so he wouldn't be on that list of eligible prospects for the draft. Regardless, we don't really need a QB in this cl****. I think Trevor Knight is going to be a really good one.
I should also add that I feel kind of bad for Scott. Guy grew up dreaming of getting an OU offer, and he was really close to getting one, just came up a bit short. Like everyone else said, I'm sure Cody will do a great job if he ends up here, but you gotta root for the kid who really wanted to be a Sooner.

I like this kid. Looks like he already runs a version of our offense. He has good footwork, a decent arm, was making tight throws, and going through his progression and not always locking onto one guy. Plus he's 6'5 and looks like he can move. He's gonna be a great Sooner!

"Cody Thomas is a player with tremendous upside if he chooses to focus all of his attention on football. Oklahoma has gotten a big, power pocket passer that with further technical work could really blossom at the next level. Many of his fundamental quirks are a result from baseball and can easily be ironed out. He has great size, good feet, can make all the throws and while he can have a slight hitch in his motion, he is very efficient in everything he does."

I'm sure Scott will earn a great education & excel at the next level. Very hard for me to feel sorry for the kid.
great news to see

Just read the Sooner Nation article on Thomas.
In our opinion, Thomas has the higher upside of the two in terms of measurables and physical tools to mold and develop over time. -ESPN senior national recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill
Remember when everyone was worried about recruiting. Well it is looking pretty damn good now.
Using a schollie on Brayden Scott would be an epic waste if Thomas goes MLB. Next year Justice Hansen will be a top 5 QB in the country.
We need defensive players more than a QB/cheerleader who will ride the bench.

I think we need a qb in every cl**** and two in every third cl****. Or 6 on scholly at all times. JMO
Got ourselves a good one here fellas. He says that he didn't wanna pitch because he wants to use his arm for football...also that he likes outfield for baseball which many scouts aren't interested in him for.
I think he is going to play football. He said playing college football was a dream of his since a little boy.
Yes
He's still young, but should be a bad****.

Good article on Cody Thomas

2013 Colleyville Heritage quarterback Cody Thomas -- The Oklahoma commit was excellent on the day and was probably the top player at the event, showing why he's considered the best pure passing prospect in the state. At a legitimate 6-5, he's an imposing presence on the field and flicks the ball with ease to any part of the field, while also showing the ability to change speeds to put touch on deep balls or increase his velocity in the short passing game.
He threw an interception as I walking up, so he didn't make the strongest first impression, but he wasn't noticeably forcing the ball the rest of the day. At other times, he took four-second calls rather than force the ball into coverage, a strong indication that he values possession of the football.

This dude is so much better than Tyrone Swoopes from Texas. Its a joke how overated Swoopes is and I promise you Thomas will own the Longhorns and TS in the RRR year after year.

How do you think he matches up usao?
I think he'll finish on the high end of Pro Style kids. He's currently the #8 Prostyle QB per ESPN. think he is a little underrated

Over the two hour first session at the Elite 11, thought Oklahoma commit Cody Thomas was pretty sharp.
How's Thomas doing?
Looking "pretty sharp."
Reports said he was inconsistent on the second day. Looked sharp at times, then sometimes his timing and accuracy were off.
Also people were saying he was surprisingly athletic for a 6'5 pro-style quarterback.
Per reports: Really accurate on short and intermediate throws, doesnt have the strongest arm on deep balls
This might explain some of his arm issues
"Before the Elite 11 finals, Thomas was in Missouri for a baseball tournament where he played in six games. He had one day back home to rest before flying out to California"
