my drive on the xbox went out. I'm replacing it and I apparently need to flash it. I downloaded jungle flasher and I'm going to get started on it later this week.
Anyone ever done one?

Only thing i've ever done to my Xbox360 is clean it, good luck
Yeah whatitis, I have done this **** for many years.
If it was just your drive that went out. Instead of copying your drive key over to the new drive with jungleflasher, you can just buy the same drive you have from ebay and swap boards. Open the drive up and remove the board, usually just screws for all brands except lite on. If you need help just message me or post in this thread.
Yeah I have the Lite-on, I plugged it in and it'll play dvds but not xbox 360 games. So I looked it up and it's just like you said that it can be switched out on them all but lite-on which requires soldering, which I'm not comfortable with doing. So I tried to connect the drive to my motherboard and found that won't work. I need a RAID sata port so I just got it in the mail yesterday. I plan on doing it over the weekend.
The soldering is super easy. All you do is take the hot metal end and heat up the existing solder to pull the wires off the board then do the same on the new board but just stick the wire in the melted solder. Literally takes like 3 minutes and you just use existing solder. Either way, it's nice to have that sata port cause you can flash new firmware to the drives to play "backups".
Not yet. I just haven't had the time really. I had a computer build I did this weekend and a project for my accounting cl****. I have 3 tests on Friday and My great Aunt, who is 85, is having open heart surgery this morning. Just overwhelmed at the moment. I'll be out of town this weekend so the weekend after is when I'll likely have time to tackle it.
Yeah, I saw that the soldering doesn't look too hard but I don't trust myself. if I can't figure it out I may have someone else do the soldering and try that.
