When he visited Norman for OU's spring game in early April, he didn't expect to walk away having committed.
But during the day, he felt a pull.
“I knew where everything was and what to expect,” Ward said. “It just felt like a fit. There was no more exploring that I needed to do.”
Sitting with his sister, Courtney, and parents, during the game, Ward told them he wanted to commit.

Well, the obvious question is why did he move again?
From the article it sounds like he was already living in that district. So I would think that he was told to transfer into the district in which he lives.
Thing to keep in mind with DJ is his grades are fine and he is not known to be a trouble maker, so he is on course to be a Sooner. It'll suck **** if he has to miss his SR year.

He's a beast...not sure what's going on with his schooling, but I think the take away is Dougl**** sucks and Southmoore is good?
His dad works at Dougl****, but they bought their home in the Southmoore district.
Carey Murdock said his family bought a home inside the Southmoore district and therefore he could not remain at Douglas despite his dad working there.
That's what it sounds like to me. So he should have no problem playing for Southmoore, as they live in the district. They needed the wavier to play at Dougl**** because they did not live in the district
A caller called in to the Rush yesterday talking about it. Dusty and Teddy hadn't heard about it but said they didn't like it. They equated it to free agency. He may be the #1 player in the state but he may also be too big for his britches. It could be another Maurice Clarrett situation.

Yes he needs a hardship waiver to PLAY. He wants to play but he cant at Dougl**** because he lives in the different district. His first hardship waiver was "Hey my parents are moving & i would like to play"
The OSAA is about as fast as the NCAA at granting these waivers sometimes. Although, from the info that is out there it really should be a an open and shut thing. I would expect him to be able to play although he may have to sit a few games.

Saw a tweet that said Stoops announced during his presser yesterday that Ward hasn't been cleared by the NCAA, what's that about? Is it simply a result of him transferring before his senior year?
Thats what it looks like.
It's the multiple transfers he did in a short period of time.
He will be cleared sometime in October. These things take time you know.
