OK, who's psyched about The Avengers next week?

I'm an unapologetic nerd for the comics. The Avengers was a comic I NEVER thought would get a movie let alone the build up and star power it has behind it. All of my friends read X-Men when I was a kid and I was the only one who hated the X-Men. The Avengers had so many epic stories and characters. I had to break out my old collection and start thumbing through some books. All I know is that next Thursday night I'll be like a ten year old again who used to pump quarters at the arcade playing the classic Captain America arcade game wishing for this day to finally arrive. I am so amped....like first game of the FOOTBALL SEASON amped!

It's rare that I get THIS excited for a movie anymore. I just can't wait.

Got my tickets for IMAX at the Warren next week. I can't wait. It's been getting good reviews on Rottentomatoes.

My wife already bought opening night Warren IMAX tix without me even asking or suggesting it. There is a reason i planted my seed in her.

Big nerd day too. May the 4th is known as "Star Wars Day" (May the 4th be with you)

I was wanting to take my boys, but I will probably be in Houston next week for work...they'll have to wait until I get home.

Meh. I'm not totally familiar with many of the characters. I never even heard of Iron Man until the movie a few years ago. I'm sure I'm not the target, however.

Man, I'm not even a comic book guy at all, but I have to say it's pretty cool to have all those characters in one movie together. But, that also means that they could turn it into a convoluted train wreck and piss off legions of comic nerds.

Oh it is guaranteed to piss off hardcore comic nerds but fans of comics should just be happy that it is happening. Just wish they could have Wolverine and Spider-man in it but that will never happen.

I think it looks like a fun movie and I am certainly excited to see it. It just bothers me that in this universe Thor co-exists with mortal superheroes. Ironman, Hulk, et al are great on their own or even along side each other... but adding Thor to the mix makes it completely unbalanced and makes the rest of the heroes irrelevant. I mean come on, Iron-man has a cool suit but Thor is a ****ing GOD. Go home, Ironman, Thor is here now... the world has no need for you. Hawkeye is complimenting Thor in fighting evil? Please. It would be like God himself appearing on Earth to fight off a horde of demons and asking me to help him because I am OK with a shotgun. I am fine with suspending disbelief enough to accept a world with superheroes... but it still needs to be an accurate depiction of how the world would be if said heroes existed.

Thor lacks subtlety (and in this universe an from an alien race that were worshiped as gods) . Black Widow and Hawkeye are Agents of Shield first. They are like spies. Don't underestimate their ability to kick **** with trick arrows and Bullseye-like accuracy. Also Hulk smashes WAY better than Thor. /nerdrant

I got an e-mail yesterday from a vendor we work with that is having an appreciation event at the opening of The Avengers at the Warren Theater in Moore. A guest and I will get a ticket, popcorn and a drink each for the 1:30 showing. Both my wife and son wanted to go, but she (being the awesome mom she is) bowed out so he can go. I told him I'd pick him up early from school so we can go up and enjoy the movie.

What's better than a move you're stoked to see? Seeing it with your kid while someone else pays.

Getting ready to see avengers in 20 min. Opened early here in Thailand.

I'm not one to write a review after one viewing so I probably won't be back to say much. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

I will say theaters are packed for this movie more than any other we've seen here so far.

I saw the sneak preview tonight in Imax in 3D. I'm not a comic book guy and even I thought it was incredible. I loved it.

I'll be excited about this movie if, and only if, someone tells me Scarlett Johansson goes topless for at least 30 uninterrupted seconds in a well-lit scene.

Yeah, that's right. Thirty seconds. That's all I need.

Me either. i've never seen any of them, the XMen, or the Fantastic Four films so I'm not the target guy either. My daughter wants to see it so maybe I'll go with her. I'm sort of wanting to see Battleship.

Theatres here are showing all the films of the characters leading up to the midnight showing of The Avengers. I believe the ticket for the marathon is like 45$. My sister tried to do that but it sold out fast.
