Edited your post, offer confirmed by OUI,SoonerNation
HS teammate of '12 signees Trevor and Connor Knight
Matt is a big **** kid who is a legit 6'6" 280 I would say. The best part about his frame though is that he has very little fat on him for a guy his size. He is just a massive guy with a nasty streak. The kid comes from the midwest and grew up playing smash mouth football and definitely was stronger against the run the first time I saw him. Through 2 years in Texas though he has become a more well rounded tackle who I would say still is stronger as a run blocker but has come along way in p**** pro. The biggest thing that has held him back is injury as he missed I believe the first 4 games of his junior year due to this and rotated in for a few weeks after that. Otherwise he might have even more offers than he already does, though he does hold offers from OU, Ok State, Oregon, Miami, Baylor etc... He is very quick and gets off the line fast. He is also really solid and pulling and finishes off his blocks.
At the end of the day I think you will see him have a great year this year and wind up as a low 4 star if he stays healthy. He has two things you cannot teach....size and a freaking nasty streak.

^ you the man Mule
Surely being a teammate of the brothers Knight can't hurt our chances in possibly securing his commitment.
Trevor Knight's high school teammate Matt Beyer.
SoonerNation @Sooner_Nation Four-star offensive tackle Matt Beyer has committed to OU. He's the former teammate of 2012 QB signee Trevor Knight: http://es.pn/NeeN21

Excellent.
Terrific news.
free scout board has him as a commit
Yup, Rivals has him too.
Nice way to start the week yall
@TKAD10
S/O to my man and recent OKLAHOMA SOONER commit @Beyer78! Can't wait to make more memories with you man! #rattlersforever #BoomerSooner
How many O-Lineman do we need to sign with this cl****?
We have 2 OLine commits. Mike wants three more dbs leaves us with 3 wildcards if we take 18. Hopefully 2 of those are Manning and another DT (juco?). That would actually leave one wild card. ....I here E Jefferson from Denton is getting close to an offer but we have numbers issues. If one of the two juco wr doesn't make it look for him to be our next commit
I believe I remember reading that this is another kid coming back from injury, so his recruitment has been way under the radar. The impression I got from the reading is that this guy could be a "steal" if he continues to be ranked low/underrated, whatever. --> I realize that some places have him a 4*, so that's not exactly "underrated". However, I do believe he's rather far down the list in terms of position ranking, isn't he?
He doesn't have the "5 star" offer list but the kid def will help us in both run blocking and p**** protection. I think we are really trying to get back to running more and should have a good year at it. This kid is from the midwest where run blocking is life of the linemen. Like stated earlier he has a mean streak as well.

Has a good offer sheet for a 3 star
For what its worth Trevor Knight is a signee his brother walked on, all three are very close and Trevor who borke the news on twitter is looking forward to new memories. Sorry to young to post but 41 replies to go.
Four-star offensive tackle Matt Beyer (San Antonio/Reagan) wanted to make his college decision before the start of his senior season. After a week visiting family in Minnesota to relax and think about things, he was ready.
Beyer confirmed Monday that he has verbally committed to Oklahoma.
He visited the OU campus for junior day in February, but it would take another four months before he would receive an offer from the Sooners.
Beyer injured his back last summer and there were concerns about his health. However, Beyer silenced those critics with a solid spring, and the offer list grew with each week. Entering last week, the four schools Beyer had been talking to the most were OU, Oregon, Oklahoma State and Baylor.
Four-star prospect Matt Beyer's commitment to Oklahoma helps the Sooners shore up their offensive line depth, writes Brandon Chatmon.
It also didn't hurt OU's cause that a couple of his former teammates are already on campus in the Knight brothers. Quarterback Trevor Knight was OU quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel's No. 1 choice for the 2012 cl****. Trevor's twin brother, Connor, is a preferred walk-on at tight end.
Beyer said last week Trevor has been talking to him about playing together in Norman since Trevor's commitment last July. And it was Trevor who broke the news via Twitter on Monday morning.
Beyer had a fun time on a visit to Oregon two weeks ago and said he was hoping his visit to see family and friends in Minnesota would help clear his head. One thing he didn't need was another trip to OU. Because of his previous trip there and his relationship with the Knight brothers and OU offensive line coaches James Patton and Bruce Kittle, Beyer said it simply wasn't necessary.
Beyer is the 12th commitment for OU's 2013 cl**** and the second at offensive tackle. Three-star prospect Dalton Rodriguez (Tulsa, Okla./Union) committed in May.
The Sooners are most likely not done at the position as it looks like OU will take three offensive tackles for the cl****.
Beyer's commitment is some much needed good news for OU fans. The Sooners saw four defensive targets come off the board in the last 24 hours.

Which four defensive targets committed elsewhere? I saw Walker committed to Texas A&M, but who else?
Nice reply okie lover I wonder what the record is for staring at your avatar
Great highlight film. Dude moves very very well. Gets to the second level really fast. Is a little high in p**** coverage, but thats to be expected at his age. Seemed to work hard every play on that film.
Nice to see us getting back to that huge line mentality (ie duke robinson, loadholt, mode). Love the way his bio reads "Is aggressive and mean at the point of attack" - nasty streak. Great get.
very confusing, but Beyer's team won 40-1 this week...not sure how 1 is possible...
Rivals reporting that Beyer has quit football. If true, we have 0 OT commits.
Per @SoonerScoop Beyer is going to have to give up football due to injury
****
Of the 12 offers we have out to OT's other than Beyer, only Laremy Tunsil and Aaron Cochran aren't committed elsewhere. Tunsil has a top 2, and we're not in it.
That said, someone make a case for Kittle to remain on staff without a serious turnaround of tackle recruiting. Because I can't see it.

Really sucks for a kid to have to give something up that they love.
He is one of Bob's friends. I rest my case. That said, someone make a case for Kittle to remain on staff without a serious turnaround of tackle recruiting. Because I can't see it.
