You run a nickel package but you got to be big in the front 6 to control gaps. Also size and strength can push pockets and create seams for blitzers to get pressure on QB. You go small and quick with the back 5 for the most part

Stanford is bigger, tougher and tackles better than OU. Overall the Cardinal are not an elite team because of their offense.
But their big tough guys shut down the speed of Oregon. OU shut down nobody's speed.
Exactly my point. If we recruit bigger at those positions we might become a more physical defense that can tackle well and still be able to shut down a spread offense. It is possible. I don't think just because you're bigger up front means you cannot defend a spread attack.
