Stoops Should We Consider Firing Bob at the End of the Season?

My vote is if we have a **** season, which all signs point to that happening, then it should be strongly considered if we can land a coach with a proven winning record (I'm talking a National Championship under his belt). What say you?

Absolutely yes as long as Petrino is still available.

Of course, but JoeCa and him are buds.

EDIT: Petrino would NOT be an option.

No. I'm not happy where this team is at right now, but I'd like to hear 3 names that would do a better job and we can actually get.

Bob is in Mack Brown territory now. We can go 0-12 every season, but as long as the athletic department is making money, the powers that be will not care.

****uming things don't miraculously get better this season, Bob needs to clean house when it comes to offensive coaches.

let's play this out a bit....who would we want to get? i'd love paul rhodes but he's not leaving iowa state and he would be a hard sell the first few years to recruits...patterson from tcu is good but we're seeing that his team struggles with better competition...petrino is too unethical in his personal life for me to want him leading this team...i can't imagine who we could pull from another top tier program...so who could we get?

I say yes. This loyalty **** sucks. Oh, and we also need someone who can run an offense effectively.

  21. #21
This is a pointless thread. that is NEVER going to happen even if we lost every other game this year.

I'd take the ULM head coach. Or Utah State's.

  24. #24
No..but Joe C needs to see if Bob still has the fire.

I agree. Early in his career He would of felt like there was nothing to lose. I wish we had the coach with that attitude.

As much as I would like to have someone with a proven Big Boy record, if ULM shapes up to kick some real **** this season, then I'd be willing to take that risk.

    My serious idea?

Offer Joe Wickline $750,000 to replace James Patton and Bruce Kittle.

    Find a special teams coach.

if stoops stays (which we all know he will) we have to get new blood in here...the offense is a disaster, we used to be cutting edge but now we're not sure what we want to do...we recruit to play up tempo fast play but then we attempt to run the ball...no one doubts what alabama is, heck jones could play for bama and they'd still win...get a new o cordinator or promote norvell and get some fresh blood in the offense, get bell as much time as we can this season and become an offense with a plan

This will be a different team next year. Mark it down. The deer in headlights stuff won't be happening, and we'll have some offensive leadership.

I think what he's done already at a school like Louisiana-Monroe deserves consideration. Not saying we should fire Stoops and hire him, but if Bob were to step down, I think he needs a serious look from Joe C.

Not stoops' fault, but he doesn't have the heart for the game anymore. Seriously. He has heart issues and I think that's why he's changed his hole approach to the game. That plus all that money he's making. He's at the top and he is too comfortable. **** ain't gonna change.

Yeah did you see when Bob fumbled on the 2 yard line. Then he fumbled on the 4 yard line, and did you see him miss all those tackles. Oh and don't forget about the interception he throw straight to the defender.

Bottom line if Blake Bell keeps his hands on the ball OU wins and this thread is never made.

i dont think the pay has anything to do with it...saban and les miles both make crazy money and still win consistently. i'm not sure what changed but we used to play angry, we used to play with a chip on our shoulder...now we play privileged and expecting things to happen...stoops needs to get back that anger or step aside....heck i'd run through a brick wall for paul rhodes and i dont even know the guy

At least they win week in week out. Their players play every game hard and with heart. The players rally behind their coach. These coaches WANT to win every week and will do anything to make happen. We need this.

Or if Landry doesn't gift wrap a TD....or throw a INT like a true freshman...or if we didn't run a gimmicky bs offense....or... You get the point. No he shouldn't be fired but if you get credit for the successes you need to get the blame for the failures too.
