Armanti Foreman Commits
Just saw this on ESPN...it's not INsider so i'll post the story
Junior wide receiver Armanti Foreman (Texas City, Texas/Texas City) didn’t feel any pressure about committing early, but he also didn’t feel like he had to wait.
Oklahoma, still digging in the trenches to close out its 2013 class strong, got a boost with its 2014 group as Foreman confirmed his pledge to the Sooners on Monday night.
Foreman, who is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, was offered by the Sooners less than two weeks ago and let OU wide receivers coach Jay Norvell know about his desire to commit Monday.
“Coach Norvell was real proud,” Foreman said. “He said when I was calling him, he was writing me a letter. I thought that was kind of funny. Coach Norvell has been writing and sending me letters like almost every day. I’ve really liked that. It shows how much he cares.”
Despite the fact Foreman has not seen the OU campus, he said he felt comfortable in committing early because of the tight bond he has developed with Norvell over the last three weeks.
Foreman was named as an ESPN Watch List member last week, and OU was the first school to offer him. So far, it has been the only school. But it turns out that was enough.
“When OU is your first offer, you don’t need to see what else comes around,” Foreman said. “After doing a lot of research and talking to my dad and my family, I just thought there was no way I could pass up a chance like this to play football at OU.”
Foreman said he is hoping to make an unofficial visit to OU later this month when the Sooners host Notre Dame.
Norvell visited Texas City a couple of weeks ago and talked to Foreman’s coach. That visit was the first time Foreman said OU had shown any interest. Foreman called Norvell back later in the week, and he said he felt that immediate connection that he knew he didn’t have to wait.
“They’ve won a lot of championships and the tradition is incredible at OU. It’s something I really want to be a part of,” Foreman said. “This wasn’t a tough decision at all.”
Foreman is the first commit for OU’s 2014 class.

He's attending UT's 2nd junior day this weekend. Any concerns?
February 23rd, 2013 07:00 PM
Did #Sooners commit @MoneyItHurt consider flipping to #Horns? "No, I'm riding with #OU right now."
February 23rd, 2013 07:02 PM
Excellent, though that "right now" is a bit worrisome.
February 23rd, 2013 08:37 PM
im going to clean the thread up a bit into the rant thread

Just take this kid off the commit list already...
As for his thoughts on the strength of his brother’s commitment to OU, D’Onta said, “I know OU is still No. 1 but he is really open to a lot of schools. He’s committed but he’s not totally, totally committed.”
March 23rd, 2013 10:33 AM
Foreman still firm with Sooners
“The offers are still going to come in, but OU is still first right now,” Foreman said. “It’s always good to hear from Coach Norvell. I have a good relationship with him and that means a lot to have that relationship with my future position coach.”

He may be visiting Austin, TX on Easter Sunday.
March 24th, 2013 11:18 PM
Our Rivals front page has an ominous headline...
March 25th, 2013 07:07 AM
I'm basing my last post from speculation I read on another board. For those on Twitter, you may want to follow this guy for awhile.
March 25th, 2013 07:20 AM
so he's going back for a 2nd visit?
March 25th, 2013 07:31 AM
Why follow that? It's not worth reading Texas crap after Texas crap to get one gem about an OU recruit every month or so. Ill just wait for you to update me.
That would give me the feel of being subscribed to a recruiting info service and give me the impression you have inside info.
April 2nd, 2013 10:33 AM
His second visit to Austin must have gone well...
April 2nd, 2013 10:35 AM

Easy sale for Mack. You can come UT and play right away or go to OU and compete with those guys.
April 2nd, 2013 10:42 AM
WR is the position we don't really have to worry about as long as we have Norvell. Maybe another ass kicking in Dallas will give this kid some perspective though.
April 2nd, 2013 10:48 AM
He's looking out for his brother and hoping to get a package deal.
April 2nd, 2013 10:48 AM
Kid committed in October and never made it to campus. Writing has been on the wall for a bit.
April 2nd, 2013 10:54 AM
hey if he committed hopefully it means they had to offer his brother which eats up a scholly of theirs...
April 2nd, 2013 10:55 AM
so he thinks texas is going to offer his brother?? give me a break
April 2nd, 2013 11:05 AM
UT is resorting to the free pot tactic again I see.
April 2nd, 2013 11:07 AM
Who knows what he thinks, but I'd be willing to bet some other programs have said they might be open to offering his brother if they take some visits.
April 2nd, 2013 11:10 AM
Just looking out for his brother. I have no problem with that. He has a talent that people want, so he may as well milk it for everything. I wish him the best.

This has been coming ever since he started speaking out for d'Onta. No surprise. Personally, d'Onta is worth a scholly. Like I've said, if Perine was worth an offer, so is d'Onta. And IMO, Armanti is not a big loss. Nothing in his films made me say "oh shit, we need this guy". We've got plenty in the fold.
I respect his choice to try and get his brother along too. No qualms with that. I wish him luck as well.
