Disney buys Lucas Films: Star Wars Episode 7 is coming

Seriously stop and think about this. What has Lucas done in the last 30 years that's worth a ****? He's been awful. Hell, even his crowning achievement was terribly cast--he goes and finds the worst actors available and tries to build stories around them. He writes well--his direction is God-awful. I'm thrilled.

He sold Star Wars to Disney for $4.05 Billion. He could buy several ****s with that.

Actually, I'm somewhat excited. Time for new blood, and a fresh take on things. If this leads to MORE Star Wars at the theme parks, I'm all for that, too. We love us some Star Wars Weekends.

We were at Disneyland last week and rode Star Tours several times. They were apparently taking surveys of season p**** holders to gauge interest in a SW themed addition. As a regular visitor to Disney World I hope they add something there to Hollywood Studios. Would be a good fit and that park needs more stuff.

They're taking the Marvel/Avengers approach... one main film and then in the off years a stand alone movie focusing on one character.

I'm suspicious of the 2015 summer date... interested to see if they stick to that. While it's only 2013... they have a lot of stuff to do.

Not all that bad. Could mean Star Wars: Battlefield, More console KOTOR and other stuff. EA is a big brand but they have lots of developers that do some great things. Think less EA sports and more M**** Effect

Rumor has it that Star Wars: Episode VII will tell the saga of Darth Caedus, aka Jacen Solo, and his sister Jaina Solo.
An alleged casting breakdown procured by Schmoes Know (via Latino-Review) claims this is the logline for Episode VII: "Two 17 year old twins, a girl and a boy, are trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedis in the galaxy. Problems arise when the male twin turns to the dark side."
The main characters are said to be Expanded Universe creations Jacen and Jaina Solo, who are, of course, the children of Han Solo and Princess Leia.
Here's the purported character breakdown of Jacen: "Jaina’s twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what’s right and what’s wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the 'right thing'. Will eventually become Darth Caedus."
It's been long-rumored that Episode VII would focus on the offspring of the original trilogy's heroes, but this is the most definitive claim yet that EU characters Jacen and Jaina Solo would be the new trilogy's protagonists.
Star Wars: Episode VII begins filming in early 2014 under the direction of J.J. Abrams and from a screenplay by Michael Arndt.
