Correct. I have a 17, not sure why I got the 17 over the 19... I have a 23 which is the same size as the 19 and one of my CCW pieces. It would have been the better choice for practicing for my needs.

I just picked up that tasty little glock 26 on the previous page and ****ing love it! I'm gonna pick up a glock 19 soon as well.

Just get a 9mm barrel for your 23... lone Wolf has one for less than 100 bucks. Then you can shoot 9mm out of your glock 23!

Agree. I have a Mossberg 500. Cheap and reliable. I put on an ATS scorpion stock and Vortex Defense rail system on mine. Looks basically like this:

Would love to get a Benelli M4 down the road.

How much does that thing weigh ? What optic is on your 500 ?

    Sometimes less is more.

The knock-off ACOG, the flip-up BUIS, the afg, the full-length rail.

That one is not mine. I have the same stock, rail system and a flashlight/laser. The rail system is only 14 ounces so it adds very little weight. Don't have an optic for it right now. If I decide to put one on it will be a red dot sight of some sort.

I basically bought the rail system just for the hell of it. I was looking to replace the bead sight with a night sight and could not find anything that would fit my model. Came across the rail system on sale and, since I like toys, bought it. Took about 10 minutes to install. You just basically use a clamp between the barrel and receiver tube and replace a couple of pins and it's installed. Easy to come off.

Find me a sweet little semi auto one of the above please thats not going to knock me over the head in price. seriously, I want one, and Ill take your word on it. I just saw the feedback on the Linberta and the vid, looked like it would get the job done, but if you guys think I can find a superior weapon for similar price, hook it up!

Buy used if you don't want to spend a bunch of cash. I've seen Remington 1100s and 1187s for $300-400 at pawn shops.

Plus give me a good recommend on a semi auto 22LR AR style rifle... I want to start shooting these style rifles but dont know where to start? I want to work up to the .223/5.56, as I understand them to be the most common caliber and easiest to find rounds correct?

If you're going to shoot it a lot, get the rifle. If you are getting it for home protection, get the shotgun.

Skip the 22LR. There's nothing to work up to. An AR in 5.56 is one of the easiest rifles to shoot. If you want a 22LR plinker, get a Ruger 10/22 for a little over 100 bucks. If you want an AR style rifle, get a 5.56. JMO

Handgun, it would be the Springfield operator 1911. It costs a little more than 1k but is a fine piece of equipment. Rifle, I would build another ar.

I'm leaning to a 1911, but not quite sure I want to splurge for the Springfield. A buddy is trying to talk me into the p226 saying, "If it's good enought for the seals..."

i went to the store intending to buy a glock....but after holding it......(it felt like holding a 2x4).....i quickly moved on....
it was a tough decision between the p226 and the cz75....but i chose the sig
you should go to a store that has them all and hold them and go with the one that feels best...

The 239 is what I carry. Traded a .40/.357 229 for it. Also have a 290 for when I'm wearing things that aren't loose fitting.

The SEALs use whatever sidearm they are most comfortable with. So don't fall for that old cliche.

Check out the Springfield range officer.

I would imagine end of Jan beginning of Feb for a reasonable price. I wouldn't touch ammo for what they are charging now.

I picked up a Beretta 92FS today. Solid shooter, pretty dammn accurate. 350 rounds of Blazer Brass made their way home with me and I ordered 100 rounds of Buffalo Bore 147gr +p+ jhp's and some Hogue wrap around grips from Midway, should be here within a week.

glock or smith & wesson m&p are good choices, especially the m&p (has better ergonomics for lefties).

That was my first pistol. I wish I still had it. Big gun but shot amazingly well. Of course, a 17 inch barrel helps with that.

Very occasional target practice, and maybe taking a ccl class to carry on longer road trips that I have to take the company vehicle on. Maybe vacations that we take the car. Seriously considering a mossberg 500 for the house. The house alarm should be enough, but people seem to be getting crazier these days.

Get the Mossberg... And check out my glock 26 on the previous pages. I loooooove it, 9mm, good for ccl, not crazy expensive to shoot, etc.etc. right in your price range
