My sister-in-law told her kid that they were texting Santa everytime he screwed up. When he went to sit on Santa's lap he started crying. He was terrified he wasn't getting anything. I got a good laugh out of it. My SIL, not so much.

My dad had an identical elf when he was a kid...not sure if there was a story with it though.

Yep. Boy and Girl. 1 and done. My little girl watched that show 3 separate times and I don't think she blinked once.

When I was but a young lad, I thought if you had sex twice you would have twins. Birds and the bees talk included nothing about how great sex is....only when 2 people are in love and want to make a baby.

So it is that time of year ... we still don't have a new elf because Dictator turns 11 on Friday he does however somewhat roll with the santa thing I heard him tell his best friend "Of course Santa is real my mom is poor and I got an electric scooter for Christmas last year"
Anyway what are you doing with your creepy elves this year
    Here are some ideas

I don't know what an American Girl is, but the elf comes with a book, so there's that.

I do, but I guess she just hasn't been exposed to this particular plague on my wallet. Hopefully all her friends' parents are as cheap as I am and none of them have one either.

Your not to late. We started last year with my son who was 7 now 8 and my daughter was 9 now 10. They both are excited about his return this year. We read the book again on Monday but he will be making his appearance tonight.

My mother bought my daughter a Bitty Baby and an occasional outfit. I dodged the AG plague as Target had similar dolls for 20$ and outfits for 10$. She was happy with that. Just keep the catalogues away from them. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

My grandson is three and they are doing the Elf on the Shelf this year. He named the Elf Fred. They've been living in an apartment while their house was being built. They were supposed to move today, but the ice storm in Dallas had other ideas. It will be considerably harder for him to find Fred in the new house.

Just to clarify, the gnome buries the bodies that the elves kill at night.
