'Cause you and I've got what it takes to make it
We won't fake it, ooh never break it
    'Cause I can't take it

Sometimes you just find too many words that rhyme and you think you've gotta use them all.

Freedom came my way one day
And I started out of town, yeah!
All of a sudden I saw sheriff John Brown
    Aiming to shoot me down,
    So I shot - I shot - I shot him down and I say:
If I am guilty I will pay.

I can't complain about any song that goes after drug laws the way this song does.

Pretty sure Axl was just filling in the blanks until Slash played his solo.

Okay. What does it mean? Am I missing some deep meaning here?

I think Parson Brown is the minister in the cartoon Frosty the Snowman.

It's just a made up character. Parson is a Protestant minister that would travel to small towns that didn't have ministers and would perform weddings.

Okay. Nothing I didn't know. Being That you're Catholic, I guess I can see how you didn't know what a parson was.

I figured it was more about age. Is that term still used?

Dunno. We always had a parsonage beside our church so it was always a term I was familiar with.

    For you I'd do anything
Just to make you happy hear you tell me that your proud of me
For them I'd kill anything, cut the throats of babies
For them break their hearts for they were them
Waiting for you to say... I love you too
