I think he did not have the talent in place to have a winning year next year. Seeing the writing on the wall, he resigns for a higher paying position somewhere else and we will probably hear about it soon.

Is this a lateral, up or down move? More pay? Won't he have to get at leas t8 wins at Cincy to stay viable? Is Cincy still in the Big East?
With that conference in shambles, Cincy might be the best team left there. Still think of them as a BB school 1st.

The Big 12 is now losing coaches to the Big East, and all Bob Bowlsby does is sit around ****ing.

The CoachingSearch.com dude says Leavitt (currently on the 49ers staff), but there's NO WAY they can hire Leavitt given his past and what happened at Tech with Leach.

Oklahoma State fans LOVE to think Tech is a train wreck. It isn't. It isnt a great job ir anything, but it isnt a train wreck at this point.

And I'd say relations in Stillwater amongst the football powers-that-be are the train wreck.

Not really... Many have been calling his firing and like someone said above... Kliff Kingsbury seems to be a popular choice

  22. #22
Tubberville has been angling for a better job since he was hired. Cincy isn't a better job, but I think he sees it as an opportunity to get noticed if he does well. Maybe he thinks it will be easier to win and get other offers at cincy vs tech. He wasn't doing great things at tech so I'm not sure how he does any better at cincy.

    WTF?????

This whole season just took a deep dive into even greater weirdness. I don't blame the coach-slapper for wanting out of the Hell-hole known as Lubbock with ****s and idiots running the place --- but Cincinnatti?

Does seem like greener pastures after some contemplation.

Well, good luck Tommy --- and **** you Red Raiders. This is what you get for firing the best coach in school history over and cry-baby and his egotistical **** of a father.

  25. #25
I'm glad he's leaving because nobody seems to know how to spell his name--with one "b" not two.

So it's Bowlsby's fault that a coach resigns? WOW

Cincy is on par with tech but its a lot easy to win at cincy than playing in b12. math is easy.

20-17 since Leach left defines mediocrity. And they are famous for OOC cupcakes. You do the math. Losing 4 of last 5, slapping a GA on the sideline. Is this really that surprising? Another 7-5 or 6-6 and he was gone anyway and damaged goods. Pre-emptive move.

Leach agave that program a false sense of identity and the big wigs thought that the program could be successful with anyone. TT is f'd for a while.

Not taking it as a slam on B12 as much as Tubberville being Tubberville, and who wouldn't want to get the heck out of Lubbock when you can?

good lord. Are people still saying this because they think its funny, or because they really think he slapped a GA?

Well there you go. Who knew all it took to win a championship was to have your coach bolt during the height of recruiting season?

Then passed over Kevin Sumlin for Tommy Tuberville because Gerald Myers is a racist plantation owner who wanted a good ole southern boy.

Tubs left while he could before getting fired again. His teams sucked the last half of the last two season and he was like 9-17 in the league. He was going to get fired if he didnt win 10 games next year.

The new Big East is a joke of a league and there wont be any pressure on him there.
