Really? Despite their face? If you are going to use an idiom you need to say it correctly or it loses all its meaning. The phrase you were looking for is " to cut off his to to spite his face". As in to get revenge on his face by cutting off his nose. Not trying to be a **** but these things really "grate on my nerves". See what I did there.....
