looks like Gundy will not watch the defense so he can write up plays again, should be fun to watch

OsU may not be a stepping stone job to Gundy, but it is to pretty much anyone else that can get a better gig. Glad Monken is gone, now if Wickline would just leave, Young can stay.

Ah so a "monken" is something osu related.

He wasn't even at OSU long enough to run his own system. Was still basically running Holgerson's system as taught to him by Brandon Weeden from what I've read.

Coordinator or assistant coach is often a stepping stone to a HC job. Consider Mike Leach, Chuck Long, Mark Mangino, Kevin Wilson, Kevin Sumlin, for example.

Quail Gundy, your new offensive coordinator in Stoolwater.

Didn't another OSU coordinator who was 10x the coach Monken is recently ditch So. Miss. for greener pastures?

Southern Miss going 0-12 was the biggest shocker of the season. They had only missed one bowl game since 1996 and went 12-2 last season, beating Nevada in the Hawaii Bowl. They didn't just lose those 12 games but got shellacked in all but a couple of games. The only two teams that didn't whoop them were Sugar Bowl bound Louisville who only won by a FG and UTEP who beat them by 1 point.

Monken can finally do what he loves which is burning crosses, without fear of being fired, or judged.
