Really good ****istants aren't going to stay forever, it's a fact of life in college football. Just have to adjust. The HC has to be able to get
really good replacements, that's his job, something I'm not sure Bob has done of late. It's a crapshoot cause sometimes even highly touted
****istants can fall on their faces. As much as we howl over the current staff, it's not like OU has gone 8-5, 7-6 for the past couple of years.

I'd say Bob has done well with hiring. I haven't seen many teams have the ****istant turn over that he has had since coming here. I didn't like the Josh promotion much and I really didn't like the Kittle hiring, but for the most part Bob has done very good.

Patton and Martinez were both bad hires as well.

Patton is a bad fit now, but he was aces in KW's scheme.

Its looking more and more likely that we lose 3-4 games next year. Its always something for us. Whether it be injuries or coaches leaving.

i was kind of hoping for a little change during off season but not this. Heupel and Norvell are not only two of our best position coaches (along with being good OC's ... again only in their second year) but our best recruiters too.

losing both would be a disaster.

If we lose Josh and/or Norvell, I think Seth Littrell is going to get a phone call.

Martinez was terrible. Patton I'm still on the fence about, but I'm leaning towards wanting a change there too. I think Patton was a KW hire that Bob just signed off on.

True, but I also think that had a lot to do with KW being here, not just his scheme. He was a VERY good OL coach.

I understand what you guys are trying to say. But when has a coaching change in the off season produced a better record than the year before when it comes to us?

We changed DC's last offseason and finished this regular season with a better record.

agree with patton ... hell, LJ threw the ball over a 150 times in the last 3 games and was sacked maybe less than 5 times. i'm sure that had more to do with the OL than LJ's mobility. injuries have killed us in the last few years and he's done a good job making do with what's left.

Replaced Leach with Mangino and won a national championship. Change can be a good thing. Outside of this thread I haven't seen anything about Josh leaving.

we also had a better record in 04 than in 03 after Mike left, although our D was not as good. Ofcourse Mike was not there for the bowl game

From a recruiting standpoint. We want Josh to go and not Norvell. If Norvell goes WOOF. Josh is ready to be a HC. His goal is to be Oklahomas HC he has to cut his teeth somewhere

Against who outside of the ND game? (which isn't attributed to them being better, just a damn curse) Sans OSU and Texas, a lot of the opposition loses very key personnel and OSU is having to replace an offensive coordinator and Texas still has issues on both sides of the ball. It's not just about OU, it's also about who they play.

We run the ball 43% of the time. We have had a banged up oline that is awesome at p**** protection. We have had our best running year since 2008. We have had our best scoring offense since 2008. We've had our best offensive yards per play since 2008. We are completing over 50% of third down conversions. If it wasn't for some bad ill timed turnovers, we could be playing for the national championship. Our O hasn't been a problem and neither has Josh.

But proceed to want to run Josh out of town just like you did with Kevin Wilson (not directed at you el jefe, but the entire board)

Our offense has been really good for how banged up we have been.

Yet we can't run the ball, or score, when it matters.

We get a lot of stats against teams with atrocious defenses, but we can't run the ball against championship quality teams unless a have the NFL quality OL on the team.

So 5 YPC isn't good running the ball? Also consider that some of the runs are at the goal line or 3rd and short with bell where he just needs a yard or two

For comparison. Alabama gains about 2 more feet per attempt than OU. Not much at all.
