I can't believe this...I am currently going to college to became a teacher. As a future teacher I'm just sitting here shocked. I can't imagine going through this as a teacher. I also can't imagine what the kids are going through. I feel for the kids more than anything else.
I've looked at cnn.com all they've said is two adults and the shooter dead and three sent to the hospital in 'serious condition'.
Now its 27 dead? (An entire classroom, is unaccounted for)
Different news agencies reporting diiferent numbers...but who knows which ones are legit.
They mentioned it in passing said it was not confirmed watching it live on tv.

cbs seems to be the only one reporting this, at least online.
Shooter was reportedly wearing a mask, military vest. Unconfirmed report of second shooter. LE presser scheduled for noon.
Fox is also reporting this but as unconfirmed. 26 kids. 8 adults. Shooter.
CBS News has 27 on the screen.

Is is just me or does the video in the middle of this CNN page (http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/14...ool/?hpt=hp_t1) seem a little irreverant? It's as if the reporter and by extension the people she's interviewing don't grasp the gravity of this.
Same statements every time one of these happens: "Can't believe it happened here, in our quiet, small town." and "Can't believe he did it. It's just not like him. He's nothing like that at all." The unexpected is becoming expected.
Sad sad sad sad. Those poor children.

We've had a few through the years. The Edmond post office massacre being the most high profile. The shootings sometimes seem to be clustered. I'm wondering how much influence (if any at all) one has on the next one.
Watching the news now. They're reporting unconfirmed 18 children dead and then follow that with "We don't want to alarm any parents. We don't know where in the school those children were." Too late. They're alarmed. It doesn't matter where they were. You reported 18 children dead. Parents are going to be alarmed. Do these reporters think before they speak? I already know the answer to that.
I am sitting here reading the information and crying, all I can think of is my son and his sweet friends and how much these sweet babies are hurting, how terrible for the moms and dads who lost a sweet baby today and why the **** people go crazy enough to do this **** =(

The mom who spoke to CNN's Meredith Artley said she heard "at least 100 rounds" being fired.
The shooting began about 9:35 a.m., the parent said. There was a "pop pop pop" in the hall outside the room. Three people went out of the room into the hall where the sounds had come from. "Only one person came back," we were told.
The witness told Artley that she then called 911. She said she never saw the shooter but she later was escorted outside the room past two bodies lying in blood.
As a parent of a kid in Kindergarten, this is absoutely horrifying and sickening. I can't even imagine my little one going through something like this. Ugh. Man, what a way to ruin a day.
