I will operate under the ****umption that Stills and Jefferson leave early, Reynolds is reinstated, and all the other underclassmen return to school. I will also operate under the ****umption that we will continue to play five DBs next year instead of a 4-3 like most normal football teams.

If Tony Jefferson had a change of heart and decided to come back to school, that would be kind of helpful. Our defense has the potential to be horrendous next year. We need some more JUCO defensive linemen and the young DBs really need to come on strong. Offensively, we might actually be pretty good again.

I think Alex Ross will find the field a lot next year. He will be the all down all game back we have needed since Murray left. I think our OLine will be great next year and our offense as a whole might explode and dominate the Big 12. Finally in all honesty I seriously think our Dline will be much better next year then it was this year. I just have a feeling Phillips and Russell will be unstoppable. I really think our team will be a force next year and like you said if somehow we can get Jefferson back then who knows how far this team may go. Here's to another great year for our Sooners. Boomer!!!!!

Truly sad that many expect Bob and Mike to field a ****ty D. When Bob was hired I doubt many expected the Big 12 to turn into the WAC from the 80s. Talent upgrades are needed defensively but I worry the best don't want to come here with the past few years poor showings. Sure wish they'd focus on the D as much as the O.

The defense is a huge worry. Jordan Phillips could turn out to be very good, and others along the DL have great potential. But it's all potential. LB and DB? Scary. Jefferson (I ****ume he's gone) leaves a big hole, as does Hurst, of course. Still, no reason for despair. If the guys work hard and learn, while avoiding arrest and injury, it could be an excellent year.

Yeah, if he doesn't transfer, he will probably be ahead of Knight. I thought it was pretty much a done deal though that he was leaving. Maybe I'm wrong.

At WR, I predict that Saunders will remain in the slot, backed by Shepard (both will play in 4 WR sets), with Metoyer and Jaz starting at the outside positions, backed by Neal and Woods. Offense looks pretty set.

Quincy Russell will be the most important addition for 2013. Don't want to put too much on him, but this is a guy who could improve our D significantly.

I expect Frank Shannon to continue to improve at MLB, which would be another huge bonus for the D.

Grissom and Ndule will start at DE, backed up by Tapper and Mike O, provided that the latter two continue to develop.

If TJ goes pro, then I think we'll have to move Colvin back to safety. We have 2 excellent prospects at corner in Cortez Johnson and Simon. If Tee Shepard comes, then 1 of those 3 CBs will be the nickel.

Still would need someone to make a move at safety, probably the position that concerns me most for next year.

i thought chuka and geno played good when given the chance. i like rj (when he's doing interviews - nice guy) but i think those two will be an upgrade from this year.

OL looks solid and that's always a plus with a new QB.

i think gabe gets a lot of crap for 2011 season still ... he's not the greatest in coverage in 2012 but was one of our better tacklers late in the season. the last four games, lynn was the last of our worries.

They can't be any worse than what McFarland, Walker and McGee were. They are the worst DT group at Oklahoma in over 30 years from a talent standpoint.

hmm i pointed that out in my post ... now tell me who wasn't a "soft spot in p**** coverage" in the wv and osu game? and as far as tackling goes, gabe had a lot less misses than some of our other guys (including jefferson).
