This has already been going on for awhile albeit on a smaller scale (fewer countries). Not surprised they are expanding the mission.
The more I read about that it is just more reason for other countries to hate us. We occupy their home and the them how they should live.

It's not that simple. You know that.
Luttrell did an interview recently (I think it was him) talking about his redeploy after Redwing. He said he was really questioning why he was there. He was in a house in Iraq in the middle of a firefight. A woman was huddled with her kids in the home. She looked at him and asked him for us not to give up on the Iraqi people. Her husband had been killed by insurgents.
If we bring all our troops home, we will witness global genocide and ethnic cleansing on a scale to rival anything ever imagined.

Smarter, smaller, more efficient fighting forces are the future.
Before Bush decided to put us on the ground, we ran missions out of Africa that kept all but a few out of harms way. We have been there for some time now. Perhaps there are more troops, but this isnt anything new. You should talk about something else 87.
Africa is a waste. It'd be best to keep the troops home, stay the hell outta there, and let the whole continent implode.
Nah, Africa is lots of fun:
Lagos, Nigeria, is a city of 18 million people where the electricity barely works, the traffic doesn't move, and there's a corrupt cop on every corner. Yet somehow, it's almost impossible not to have fun here.

At least we will know who is responsible if an extension of activities occur....
"The teams will be limited to training and equipping efforts, and will not be permitted to conduct military operations without specific, additional approvals from the Secretary of Defense."
