Standing rib roast tonight with a rub consisting of thyme, rosemary, garlic, smoked salt, pepper, lemon zest, and ginger. Sides are smashed potatoes fried in an herb-infused oil with onions and red pepper flakes and roasted asparagus with duqqa. Tomorrow night will be a traditional Christmas dinner with ham and the like.

The last few years we've been doing brunch. Had several different quiches, scotch eggs, hash brown casserole, french toast casserole, fruit salad, sausage balls, crepes, in general just way too much damn food.

    Sticky pecan rolls this morning.

Rib roast, mashed potatoes, broccoli, home made bread, and bread pudding.

We go to a family friends house for treats and games each Christmas. No extended family around, great friends fill the void nicely.

    Christmas What On The Menu

I roasted a turkey, made dressing, sweet potatoes, gravy, and rolls. Everyone else brought green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and desserts. So incredibly yummy.

We're having the same... except I'm pretty much cooking it all... including a Cajun turkey **** in the rotisserie. Oh, and a ham. My Dad seems to insist we make enough food for 12 people every year.

That's awesome. I made bread pudding last night - that and divinity, peanut brittle, & 3 kinds of fudge were my only dessert contribution. We had 10, but it seemed like 50!

Last night was smoked ribs, wings and other snacky foods...

Today was smoked turkey, smoked ham with the rest of the works with my Grandmas incredible baked corn casserole (my alltime favorite)!

Leftovers of everything the rest of the week is gonna be grand!
