Stacy McGee arrested: Oklahoma starter's career likely done
Mark Sandritter - 2012-12-24T21:02:26Z
The Oklahoma Sooners are preparing to face Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl, but they will likely have to play without starting defensive tackle Stacy McGee after McGee was arrested Monday morning and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence.
According to a report from SoonerScoop.com, McGee was arrested at 1:20 a.m. Monday morning. While Oklahoma is yet to respond to the arrest, the latest incident is likely to end McGee's Sooner career. The senior defensive tackle was suspended for the first six games of this season for violating an unspecified university rule. He returned for the Notre Dame game and played the final six games of the season.
If McGee does indeed miss the Cotton Bowl, it would be a major blow to the Sooners' defensive line depth. When McGee sat earlier this season, Oklahoma used defensive end David King at tackle along with backup Jamarkus McFarland.
McGee played in 34 games for Oklahoma, finishing his career with 63 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
