R.I.P. dad
Well, that's it. My dad finished his battle with cancer this morning at 7:17am. Bittersweet. He was in so much pain and had been suffering for so long. So, I'm just trying to see it as him giving himself and my step-mom his Christmas present: no more pain and suffering for anyone.
Rest in peace, daddy-o. I love you.

Lost my dad to cancer in February, a few days shy of his 56th birthday. I know that bittersweet feeling, to be sad to see him go but to also be a little relieved to know he's not suffering any more.

I lost my Grandma recently who was also suffering far beyond what I would wish on my worst enemy at the end and it did seem to make it a little easier to accept that she finally had relief at last... My prayers go out to your family on this day.

I'm sorry for your loss, tough to lose someone during the holiday season. I lost my mother 12/28/1961, yes I am old, yes she was young, 31.
I think of her with beautiful memories each and every Christmas.
May you find peace with the end of his pain.

Deepest condolences , may you find peace knowing his pain is gone. I've been without dad 6 years it still hurts but knowing he is no longer fighting lung cancer gives me waves of peace. Much love to your family

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure he was as proud of you as you were of him.
Sorry to hear about your loss. I lost mom to cancer a little over a year ago and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Hurts a ton, definitely understand. All of his suffering is over now and he's in a way better place. Prayers sent to all. Try to keep your chin up.

He will be laid to rest next Friday with a full military funeral. My first. Should be interesting.

My father passed a month before I was born, so I hope you find solace in the fact that you had him as long as you did and he is no longer in pain.

Well, finally laid my father to rest today. I'm going to take his ashes home, customize them for him, and then have a drink with him. Love you, dad!
