Is it really that far-fetched in your mind? I mean with the College game so watered down I really think we have nearly a 50/50ish shot of playing our way in and with Kruger's track record I wouldn't bet against us making it in somehow even with the cluster that that ****ing **** Capel left us with ...

I will never forgive him(Capel) for denying Maynor's request to come with him from VCU ... You put Maynor on that team with Blake where we lost to the eventual Champs UNC by the closest amount of any team in the tournament ... Sigh I truly think we do not shoot 2-19 from 3 in that game with Maynor at PG and the domino effect it would have had on the rest of our team... Double sigh

I predict we finish 19-11 on the year (see my thread about predicting our Big 12 record) and I'm just not sure that's enough to get us in the tournament. I think it depends on where it puts us in the conference but I think we will be playing in the N.I.T this year. Don't get me wrong, I will be crazy happy if we can make the NCAA tournament. If we do make it, I think it will be as a 12 seed. I could be wrong, but it seems that 13-16 seeds are usually saved for automatic qualifiers in small conferences. Marginal teams from major conferences usually slip in at a 12 seed or so I think.

Yep it is rare for At-Large teams to be seeded lower than 12. I think it has happened on occasion however(a BCS At-Large getting seeded as a 13-seed that is)... After actually looking at our schedule Mahler I think your 19-11+NIT prediction seems incredibly plausible. After looking at the actual schedule I came up with a very similar 20-10[11-7] prediction.

I absolutely LOVE how our schedule closes in a favorable fashion as I think if it plays out as I am predicting and we win at least 1 game in the Conference tournament I think we would be NCAA tournament bound. But really SO MUCH ground to cover to even begin thinking that way.

Honestly no matter how our season goes and whatever breaks our team gets I am in love with the direction of the program under Coach Kruger.
