In theory, yeah... he should be better next year and more motivated. Unfortunately, these types of seasons don't happen "in theory". That was in all likelihood his best shot at the record.
He's 1 missed 4th and inches away from breaking it. Somewhere.... All year long, there's that 1st down that was missed by inches and instead of a fresh set of downs with a minimum 2 carries... They punt. Game of inches.
So who else was hoping the kicker would shank that kick?
