Smith is obviously a glaring ommission from the list. I don't believe he could have put up the numbers on the teams these 6 guys played on.

I can't rank AD up that high yet. He still needs to do this for a few more years to get up there in my book but he's a hall of famer if he has played his last game right now. That's how good he is.

Sayers would be up there but he only played a limited number of years..Too early for me to put AD into the top ten but he will rocket to the top if he performs for another couple of years...

I think some of us are on different wavelengths. Some are taking the entire career into account and some are going off the eye test. I am going off the eye test and saying top 3 right now that has ever played the game. Career? Already top 10, IMO.
I wouldn't have a problem moving AD to #4 and Emmitt down a spot.

See these Jim Brown highlights. Awesome for sure. The guy seemed to be almost impossible to take down. However, he doesn't have the breakaway speed that AD
(Bo Jackson) has. Nor does he have the moves of Sanders or Payton. I never saw Jim play. I've just always heard that he's without a doubt the best ever. I cannot come to that conclusion just from watching these highlights.
Can you?
Now watch AD. They left out that bad**** run where he basically jumped and kicked that dude in the face and literally ran over him.
I'd have to say that AD is certainly faster than Jim and it looks like he punishes people more, much more. Jim seemed to be unbelievable at staying on his feet.
This doesn't take into account that the players these two go up against are from completely different eras. Today's NFL athlete is a much different creature than they were 50 years ago. That fact cannot be denied.
Personally, I think Jim gets the automatic #1 vote simply because that has always been everyone's answer. It's a paradigm.
Christian Okoye
Ki-Jana Carter
Ron Dayne
Archie Griffin
Ickey Woods
If Bo had had a longer career there is a really good chance he'd have been a top 5 back
ADs not done yet. Let it play out.
