Just got back from a 14 day Caribbean cruise!

It was amazing. My first cruise experience. I went on the Celebrity Eclipse. I think I would enjoy Carnival more though. The Celebrity boat was beautiful though....just more of a cruise for older folks. The islands were beautiful! When I get my pictures all downloaded, I will come back and share them. I did the ziplining in labadee, Haiti and I did the waterpark Atlantis in the Bahamas. Probably one of my favorite things was taking the boat to the airport on the island of St Marteen and watching the airplanes land! That was pretty cool. Got to see an airbus land and we were right under it!

Quick question, are you going to drink while uploading pics to your computer?

If so, second quick question - when are you going to do this, we need another Heisman thread.

Did you snap any pics of titties?

I love cruises. I just got a couple weeks back from getting married on a week long cruise in Jamaica. There were five that day, but we were the only ones on the boat. Amazing experience with all our family. This was my 6th cruise, my wife's second but this is pretty much the best way to travel. Try and Alaskan cruise if you enjoy nature or a European cruise if you enjoy historical.

Just finished a week long cruise in the Caribbean on Disney. Have done Carnival in the past. Carnival had a ton of kids but we went in the Summer. Bad idea. Disney was awesome, but we went Dec 8-15...not many kids. Timing is important. I liked Disney's service and quality. THe food was outstanding, and the ship was immaculate. THey really pay attention to detail. Carnival...it was like a beer keg frat party.

The thing that bothered me about both was the older folks. Just not the right demographics for me. And a week is jsut right. Couldn't image two.

I definitely want to do the alaskan cruise and I would love to do a cruise in the med sea. There is plenty of time for all that. I would still love to do another to Mexico as well.

One of the best aspects to the cruse was learning all the history behind each island. Bardedos, Antigua, San Lucia, St. Marteen, ect, all have wonderful and interesting histories.

Timing IS everything. The disney cruises actually sound like a lot of fun! The things that they come up with for parents to keep track of kids are spot on! A free two way phone to call and text at any time is a great idea. I don't know if I would want to do a disney cruise because of SO MANY kids...however, if I could do it at a time with not so many, I would! Carnival is much more of a party boat. But i've heard many things about them that make me think its not a 24/7 frat party. They to caiter to a younger crowd, and they are cheaper cruises. BUT....they entertain you non-stop which is the point.

My cruise ship was honestly a gorgeous ship. The bars were amazing...and it was decorated VERY well for Christmas. BUT, it kinda sucks when you have an amazing looking boat (inside and out) and a bunch of old farts who won't even participate in shows or games....takes the fun out.

Going on cruises is probably a below "standard" way for certain people to go on vacation. I'm not one of them.

I think going on a cruise is a good way to see parts of the world and be entertained and fed at the same time. If I were wanting to spend a good deal of time at a particular place, such as Italy, Turkey or Greece, a cruise wouldn't be the best way. Although, it gives you a taste of those places. I think the cruise itself will make or break the trip.

So are you saying you will never go on one? Or you have never gone on one?

My last cruise was 8 months and they made me work with stops including Dubai and Bahrain. I guess I picked the wrong cruise line.

Never been on one. Doubt I ever will. The only one I have any interest in would be the Alaskan variety. When I'm on vacation, I don't want to feel like I'm being herded around like a piece of cattle.

I don't know. I did a speedboat tour of that island that had alcohol included. We went and snorkeled at this nice beach that was of course topless with some amazing scenery.

Where is the sunset beach bar? French or Dutch side?

The SSBB was on the beach that the planes fly over. It was a great little bar that had great food and great drinks. It also had an old surf board that had the arrivals and departures written on it. I know it closed for a bit, but I had heard they were going to reopen it. Great little bar...topless women drank for free.

Not on the plane of course, but on the cruise ship yeah. I have carried 2 plus weeks of luggage down the entire length of the Rambla in Barcelona and when I left on my cruise out of Rome I carried my stuff through multiple subways. Mostly because I'm kinda cheap...but at the same time I don't trust the hotel/boat to not **** up my luggage. I don't trust the airlines either I just have to.

I thought it was good but because school was out they doubled the price for my cruise over what you paid.
Supply and demand can be a ****.
My cruise was completely sold out, loaded with kids and cost me over a grand per day.

Probably would have been significantly cheaper even a week earlier. People want to be on the cruise over Christmas and New years. Those are more expensive than primetime summer cruises.

You could just get off the boat and not do excursions, still on a time limit though.

Yes, I know that. But if you have never been somewhere before, and don't know about places like that, it's gonna be pretty hard to find them if you take a taxi around the island. We found the best way was to look at the excursions through the cruise and then find them outside the cruise line. But you have to be careful about doing that. We found the ones that had the best reviews by other guests. The speedboat tours where the best in my opinion because you got to see the island from the water and they also took you to some really cool places. On that particular tour, we ate at a locally owned place and the food was great!

The other excursion that we did was to go to the 7 sisters waterfalls in Grenada. That was beautiful! Labadee Haiti was nice because the place was owned by the cruise line. they had a zip line that was 500 ft high and over 1000 ft long and that was a lot of fun.
