Thread: Jadeveon Clowney's hit.

  1. #1

    Sharks Jadeveon Clowney's hit.

Who else had that "OH ****! DAMN!" moment when they saw this?

We all know next year's his last in college football. Is he the AD of defense?

  2. #2
Just another average play by the superior athletes of the SEC. They really are the chosen people of God, you know!

He is an absolute stud. I wish we could land some D-Linemen like him.

Dude's a beast when he's actually blocked. Should be doubled almost every play. How do you whiff on him??

That hit was so good they interrupted the game I was watching to show it. The announcer gave the professional broadcast version of "holy **** guys, you gotta see this hit by Clowney" as he cut in. Good stuff.

Anyone else confused on why it wasn't "targeting"? I hate the new targeting rules. I never know when a hit is great or illegal. To me, it looked like he put his helmet on the RB's chin.

What's unbelievable is the coaching staff running this play asking the right guard to pull and block this beast before he kills the running back. .

That will probably be the hit of 2013. Heck it may even be the hit of the decade. He had another play a little later in the game similar to that one but not quite as violent.

Its pretty remarkable to think that this guy is only a true sophomore. I feel bad for the o linemen that have to go up against him now, imagine how ****ty it must have been to block him in high school.

No, Clowney is not the AD of defense. He was getting his **** beat for the significant majority of the game by Michigan's left tackle. On this play, Clowney is supposed to be picked up by the pulling guard. I saw a guy do this exact same thing in high school. If the playside DE on a counter trap reads the play quickly enough (he has to see the playside offensive tackle diving down to combo the playside DT, AND see the play develop in the backfield), he basically just needs to make a beeline for the RB.

Dude is athletic and fast and has probably 60 lbs on the RB. Since he wasn't blocked, that was kind of inevitable.

He was a pimp coming out of HS
The 6-6, 260-pounder, who possesses a 36-inch vertical leap and 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash, racked up 306 tackles and 52.5 sacks over the last two seasons. Yes, those numbers are correct.

He's a pimp in College, many think first pick in 2014 NFL draft

the question is, when he plays with the big boys of the NFL, will his attributes that made him so dominate in HS and great in college, still be special in the NFL?

A hit knocking another player's helmet off is an obvious foul and should have been penalized. Where did the refs have their heads????

No it's not. He's not a defenseless receiver. A running back in the open field can be hit square in the head legally.

Hardly. The RB needs to learn how to adjust his helmet to fit properly.

No. South Carolina, Clemson, Alabama, Florida State, LSU and Ohio State were his top 6, but this was primarily a two horse race between South Carolina and Clemson.

A really underrated aspect of that play is how Clowney nonchalantly scoops the ball with one hand.

You think so? That looked really close to just under the chin and more on the chest. If the RB strapped his helmet on right I don't think it looks so bad.

The fact that he picked up the fumble with one hand and tried to run with it shows how freaky of an athlete he is...most guys just hit hard he actually played through the play

Yes, definitely a fine only reason his helmet came off was because he hit him with his helmet right under his chin in an upward motion. That's still helmet to helmet.
