I can actually think of a use for 8K display. As a big ol' window. Because of the equipment and layout my office has to have, I have to be in the interior part of the building. Hence, no windows. A large 8K display with a feed from the outside would be cool as a virtual window. I really hate not having a window. Although, this would be cost prohibitive for many years to come.
