2013 Schedule-Predict The Record based on what you think today

Here's next year's schedule. Predict the record based upon your thinking today.

    08/31 Louisiana-Monroe Norman First Meeting - 09/07 West Virginia Norman 11/17/12 (50-49, OU) 3-2, OU 09/14 Tulsa Norman 09/03/11 (47-14, OU) 17-7-1, OU 09/28 at Notre Dame South Bend, Ind. 10/27/12 (30-13, ND) 9-1, ND 10/05 TCU Norman 12/01/12 (24-17, OU) 8-4, OU 10/12 Texas Dallas, Texas 10/13/12 (63-21, OU) 59-43-5, UT 10/19 at Kansas Lawrence, Kan. 10/20/12 (52-7, OU) 70-27-6, OU 10/26 Texas Tech Norman 10/06/12 (41-20, OU) 14-6, OU 11/09 at Baylor Waco, Texas 11/10/12 (42-34, OU) 21-1, OU 11/16 Iowa State Norman 11/03/12 (35-20, OU) 70-5-2, OU 11/23 at Kansas State Manhattan, Kan. 09/22/12 (24-19, KSU) 71-18-4, OU 12/07 at Oklahoma State Stillwater, Okla. 11/24/12 (51-48, OU) 83-17-7, OU

    I see wins at:

    Louisiana
    Tulsa
    Texas
    Tech
    Iowa State
    Kansas

Everything else I've rated a toss up -- and I was close to putting Tulsa in that category.

Can be better. Can be worse.

The schedule appears to be more favorable than this past year, and a lot of our opponents will lose a lot to graduation. I am alway an optimist in the off-season, but I think we have a similar season to this year, but we lose three regular season games and win a December bowl.

Losses at Notre Dame, and OSU. We could lose at Baylor and KSU too. But I will split the difference and say 9-3.

OU has lost to Baylor once ever and that was when they had RG3. They will not lose to Baylor.

Are Mack, Diaz and Harsin still coaching at Texas? Is their best option at QB still David Ash? I don't see OU losing to UT either.

Notre Dame probably a loss, though I don't know about how much they lose.

KSU with no Colin Klein? Unless they have some absolute stud nobody knows about I don't really see it.

TCU always freaks me out because they play very good defense usually, they have a mobile QB who will be a 2nd year starter, or will Pachall be back?

The Pokes are the concern spot for me next year. ND is going to have a tough time replacing Teo.

    Maybe Texas.

Easy. 12-0, #8, another Heisman, and after the season they announce that they'll be bowling-in the stadium and selling beer.

If Jordan Phillips is a stud: 1/2 losses

If Jordan Phillips is another McFarland: 3 losses

If Jordan Phillips isn't even McFarland: 4 to 5 losses

The offense will be fine...good enough to win a National Championship if OU fielded a Top 5 defense. But we'll be lucky to field a Top 30 defense, unless Phillips demands a double team (wow...how I miss the days of Gerald McCoy)

    This exactly.

  26. #26
If Texas starts Swoopes at QB next year i think it's a loss. Notre Dame has to replace like 60% of there starters so its a toss up. But if Josh has to install a new offense for Bell id say it will probably take half the season to get it clicking with out m**** confusion and wasted time outs

this is right where I am except I think Baylor and OSU end up winning...they are both going to be stout next year and it's in their houses too

ND of course will be pretty good and TCU will be salty as well

I really see notre dame as unwinnable, I know they got flogged tonight but they will be well coached and have more talent than us in the lines. The rest of the games are winnable, we play in the big12-2. I say we lose 1-2 of those. 9-3 I say

I forgot to say if we have one of those injury bug years we are likely 7-5, I know, don't jix us but it is always a possibility

Depends on how good Bell is as a QB. If he's about Landry good. 9-3 or 10-2. We are just too soft mentally to beat teams like ND or OSU. If Bell is just an average QB we could easily lose 6+ games

Has nothing to do with Bell. If Chris Leak can win a National Championship, then so can Blake Bell.

OL and DL...literally not a single damn player on the team matters off the line of scrimmage...Especially with the talent OU has at the skill positions.

ULM W in a game decided by 14-20 points, but feels closer
    WVU W by 35-45
    Tulsa W by 20-31
@ Notre Dame L by 4-7 points, with several wasted chances
    TCU W by 10-17 points
    Texas W by 38-49 points
@ Kansas W by 24-31 points but will feel like it was closer
Texas Tech W by 10-17 points
    @ Baylor W by 10-18 points
Iowa State W by 24-31 points
    @ Kansas State W 4-7 points or a W by rout 41-52 points
@ Oklahoma State W by 1-4 points, they're still little brother

All this hinges on our D Line improving some (as defined by forcing an occasional double team, and at least a couple tackles for loss).

I mostly agree with you. It's gonna depend on the new QB. I think OU is gonna control the ball a bit more on offense. Kinda like they did in the first half against aTm....you know...before hypull brain farted.

Agree. I say for sure losses against ND and OSU with a possible loss to Baylor. I think we should all be VERY happy if we went 10-2.

I would be shocked beyond belief if we end up 11-1. I'll say 8-4 without looking at who is leaving and returning with our opponent's rosters and our finalized draft cl****. I'm still hoping for some more amazing juco LBs and DL to fill in the holes on D.

If we have the luck we had in late November, we could go 11-1. That's more a reflection on our opponents than our dominance, though. The offense is going to be significantly worse this year unless we can brainchild up something similar to KSU's 2012 offense. I don't think our staff has the intelligence, creativity, or balls to do that, though. We'll have Bell trying to pocket p****.
