    Saban's taking a vacation

He's going to take a couple of days off before starting to prepare for the 2013 season. Wonder how many days Bob is taking off?

He usually takes off from about, early December to the following August. God knows he doesn't recruit.

I think Bob really lost that hunger after the loss to Florida in the title game. After the loss to Texas, the '08 team blew everybody out of the water. That was the last time I really Stoops show his full potential. Since the Florida game, it seems he's figured "as long as I can get 10 wins, I'll be golden."

This seems to me a most excellent analysis. Seriously. No, I mean it. Yeah..., but Stoops's "full potential?" What?

I remember back before the Florida game, mentioning how that game would probably determine Bob's legacy. If OU had won that night, the discussion is entirely different.

To be sure the only Legacy BS has now is ....
He's a choker who used to be a hard nosed coach who occassionally gambled and won but whi is happy to claim co- championships now and is satisfied with his job no matter the record.

Anyone have ANY idea what Saban the douchebags legacy is......

    He's a winner.

He's been there, didn't do much good. Last year we were having several groups of people practicing as opposed to just running the 1's while the 2's and 3's watched on the sidelines. Lots more reps for everyone. Not sure if that continued this year but that's what they did last year.

I did hear something on the radio about how Saban approaches the month long layoff. He gets his team mentally prepared as if they are prepping for a season opener. 2 weeks of conditioning, 1 week of fundamentals and then game week to prepare for an opponent. It seems to work pretty well IYAM, Saban's teams are tuned up at the right time every year (yes Utah for those of you that will say it but 3 out of 4 championships says something they are doing is right).

I have to believe that seeing that game last night Bob realizes how far from competing for a MNC we are and that changes must be made.

I meant the full potential he can get his teams to play up to. The talent isn't there, but it's pathetic how we quit the other night.

I agree, the team that manhandled OU, got manhandled by Bama, Bob should hope to crack the top 10

Pretty accurate. And the program (by program, I mean Boren, Joe C, fans etc) will take because...hey, we're not as bad as in the '90s. If that's our standard, not being as bad as OU in the '90s, then we're a long long way from competing for another NC let alone winning one.

That's the way a lot of people think. People always revert to the 90s and theyre right. We aren't having losing seasons like in the horrible Blake years. But as you said, this shouldn't be Oklahoma's standards. Instead of saying its better than the 90s, people should say it's not as good as the 40s, 50s, 70s, and 80s.

He and Venables did twice... evidently he was scoping out the coeds instead of learning how to coach football and recruit...

He got too many "undeserved/fradulent/knee jerk raises", & they came too large & too fast! Then, he was making money hand over fist, & he got fat & complacent. After that, we had probolems, which made his stubborness be his downfall (along w/ his insane loyalty). Bob expects & demands his players to act right & be accountable, but he is now a hypocrite...because he doesn't demand the same from himself nor his staff.
